This was purchased as an affordable project car for me. I enjoy working on vehicles. In the middle of my most recent project I received a promotion at work and had to move to the west coast. I cannot bring the car with me. The car will not run currently. I was in the middle of replacing the spark plugs, throttle body, air intake, and interior carpet when I learned of the move. The throttle body is partially disassembled at the moment. All the parts needed to put the car back to working order will be included. Some details: 1985 VW Golf Custom, 1.8L 8-Valve engine. 5 speed manual transmission. Approximately 170,000 miles. Manufactured in Volkswagen Westmoreland Assembly, 5 miles south of Pittsburgh in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. This is one of the early productions. Manufactured: November 1984. The car is solid with very little rust. Rust locations are just below battery and some small spots on the body. You can tell that the original paint job is starting to wear thin, so it may need some paintwork soon. Ask me for close up pictures if you would like to see in more detail. Featured car has original Cashmere White (LE9C) exterior paint and brown interior with tweeted seats. Dash, instruments, door cards, roof liner, carpet are all original. All the locks function including gas cap. Every light lens (head, pumper turn signals, idle markers) on this car are original HELLA (made in Germany). Also, included: original Owner’s Manual and Bentley repair/maintenance manual. Original spare, tools pouch, rack, etc. Original stickers under the hood, door jambs, trunk and gas door. Car sits on beautiful vintage set of BBS Mahle (made in Germany) with original caps.13 inch (standard size for 1985 Golf). Set of 4 tires have under 2,000 miles on them. Included with the car, basically impossible to find THULE 305 roof rack. As a bonus, I am also including all the spare parts I have collected over the years: Alternator, car cover, set of door handles with keys, windshield washer reservoir, wipers, rain gutters, seals, gaskets, bulbs, sway bar, left/right steering tie rods, timing belt, valve cover gasket, A/C compressor, etc. (over a thousand dollars spent on all spare parts).
