This 1965 Mustang convertible has been off the road at least since 1992 (note decal photo). I bought it in 1997 from the original owner (an elderly D-Day veteran) and have stored it until this year. 6300 miles on the odometer probably represents 106300. It is rare to find this vintage vehicle with so many original parts still in nice condition. This car is probably one of the lowest original mileage Mustangs of this vintage anywhere. The new finish on the car is the original Poppy Red color. The interior is original except for the carpet and door panels. The new convertible top includes a matching boot. The engine is the original A-Code 289 cu.in. V8 which is the most sought after. It has been professionally rebuilt (less than 100 miles on rebuild). The carburetor is the original, top-of-the-line 4-barrel, also rebuilt. The transmission is also the best choice, the four-speed manual. There is a new dual exhaust system, new floor (see photo), new inner rockers, shocks, fuel tank, convertible top, top boot, clutch/flywheel/pressure plate, tires (with original wheel covers), brake cylinders, bumpers. The stereo is 1960's vintage. This beautiful example from the first production year of the legendary Mustang is a joy to drive as well as an appreciating financial asset.
