This pictures tell most of the story, here is the rest: This is an ACCIDENT-FREE, SMOKE-FREE, PET-FREE, TRADE-IN with 20 SERVICE RECORDS on the FREE CarFax attached to this listing. It has a good, solid rust-free body and a clean interior with only the driver's seat showing wear on the outside bolster we've highlighted in a closeup photo. You can tell the previous owner bought the "good stuff" by the matched set of Michelin tires, NOT some of those 4/$100 auto parts store specials you sometimes see. #1 It needs an engine per the listing headline! Yes, it starts and runs but has a constant "miss" on one cylinder. According to our resident BMW expert, by the time you rebuild this engine you'd be financially ahead to just replace it with one of the several identical engines currently available on eBay for around $1,000 plus shipping. #2 It needs work on the convertible top operating system wiring. Apparently this is a common problem with this particular model and caused by the wiring being "chafed" at a pivot point on the driver's side of the roof as shown in the photos. There's even a YouTube video describing both the problem and the "fix" you can do. It appears the same problem may exist in the wiring harness going from the body to the trunk lid as it appears someone has already spliced those wires. #3 The driver's door lock has been replaced and the key doesn't match the one that operates the ignition. The batteries in both remotes are "dead" so you need the blue key to unlock the door and the combination remote/key to start the engine. From personal experience, it's not a great idea to lock a convertible anyhow so this may not be a problem. I locked mine for less than 6 months until someone slit the top to break in. #4 The driver's floor mat is missing. #5 Finally, there are some "bumps and bruises" (mostly to the lower area of the front bumper cover) from high curbs plus a chip/crack in the windshield.
