I say VERY RARE because they only made 5,049 Thunderbird Convertibles in 1966 !! You can now own a GORGEOUS Classic Car that is getting very hard to find, especially in this kind of PAMPERED - RESTORED condition, WOW ! Thousands and thousands of dollars and many, many hours were spent on the professional restoration of this ONE OWNER BEAUTY !! The car was recently restored by T-Birds West in Corvallis, Oregon and has been driven only 122 miles since the restoration was completed !! During the restoration the body was stripped to bare metal, most of the interior is brand new, brand new convertible top was installed, motor was completly rebuilt, brakes were redone with disc's up front, new ball joints and brand new Coker wide whitewall steel belted radial tires were put on. The 1966 Thunderbird convertible was the LAST & they tell me the BEST year of the fourth generation Thunderbirds and was also the LAST Thunderbird convertible produced by Ford until 2002 !! If you have never seen how the power, retractable, convertible top works on these Thunderbirds you owe it to yourself to watch the video of this car attached to this auction, TOO COOL !! We just purchased this Thunderbird from the estate of the ORIGINAL ELDERLY OREGON OWNER and as you can tell in the pictures and video it has been his pride and joy all these years for sure !! What a value it is at the reserve price which is set very low !! This T-Bird Convertible still retains it's correctly mounted - FACTORY ORIGINAL - driver's door mounted Thunderbird VIN data plate which is shown in a picture below. This BEAUTY is a NICE - DRY - SOLID - California - Oregon - Idaho high mountain desert - Western car since brand new and it shows !! I drove this Thunderbird for about a week as my everyday driver to and from the office and running errands as needed and I can assure you it runs and drives VERY WELL !! It cruises smoothly and easily in town and also does well when on the freeway at 75+ mph !!
