Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a rare find. This is a 1973 B5 Blue Dodge Charger Rallye with the all original very desirable Big Block RB 440 U code Magnum Engine I am not sure how many real 440 Chargers from this year were produced, but I am sure they would be very few and it is a rare. It was purchased by my friend back in 1988 , and was used to drive to work and cruise. It then sat for years in his garage. I recently replaced many mechanical parts and rebuilt the carburetor so now it runs fine. It also has 3 speed HD 727 Transmission, Factory Rallye dash with tachometer, Buckets, Console, power steering, power disk brakes, and Factory Air conditioning. I also have the original all important Chrysler Broadcast Sheet I checked and it a numbers matching original engine. Even the carburetor, air cleaner, and distributor are original Runs and drive great! It is actually a very strong runner for a stock 440, and I have multiple 1994 time slips proving it was a high 13 second car. It does have typical body bubbing and needs some body repair but the frame, floors, trunk, 1/4s are original metal and overall solid, for being 43 years old. The left front floor pan was soft so had a new one professionally installed. I do not see any evidence of accident damage. It does need paint, carpets, and general cosmetic restoration as shown. Overall It is mechanically sound . It has great factory sure grip 8 ¾ 3:55 posi rear. The dash, radio, glass, door panels, headliner, original Magnum 500 wheels, and dash pad are in nice condition. The floors, frame, and trunk floor appear to be original metal in great condition. The metal on this car is straight as shown The title and 150 MPH speedometer verifies car has 113k original miles. Looking at the brake pedals, good ride. And the tight front end I would be inclined to think they are. The car starts, runs, steers, brakes, and overall runs fine. It does not run hot. It has the Original correct Mopar part number radiator still. The 440 engine has no smoke no noises, and pulls like an all stock 440 torque monster should. The ac is not connected but I do have the original lines and they are in the trunk. It also has the original jack, trunk mat, and spare. This obviously is not a restored car just a rare great running numbers matching 440 4bbl big block B5 Blue Dodge Charger. You can use it just like it is for a driver or pick at it and you will have a cool documented car when it is restored I decoded the original fender tag and this was the information on it: WH23: Dodge Coronet,Charger Price: High 2 Door Hardtop U3A: 440 1973 Lynch Road, MI, USA 13685: Sequence number E86: 440 cid 4 barrel V8 (High Performance) 280HP(net) 1-4BBL 8 CYL D34: Automatic Transmission GB5: Bright Blue Poly Exterior Color H6X9: Trim - High, Vinyl Bucket Seats, Black TX9: Black Diamond Int.
