This R-27 has been in our family for over 45 years. I had Kevin Brooks at Brooks Motor Works in Washington do a frame off restoration that cost over $9,000 and I have ridden it only 600 miles since then. The bike is the last of the seven vintage BMW motorcycles that I have owned and I am only selling now because I am leaving on an open ended sailing trip around the world and it is time to sell everything I own. If you are interested in a restored R27 then this is the one you have been waiting for. Everything in the engine, trany, final drive, and steering was rebuilt with no expense spared. I had intended to keep this bike the rest of my life. The speedo was rebuilt at Palo Alto. The paint was redone, the fuel tank was replaced, Fuel system rebuilt.... the list goes on and on. All receipts are available along with a two inch thick file of receipts and history for the motorcycle. I kept the bench seat that was original to the bike in this rebuild.... But converting this to saddle seat is easy to do and the parts are all readily available. Because I have put so much into this bike..... My price is really very firm. Please do not contact me for lowball offers that are along the lines of the other eBay sold listings that I see for bikes that are in 'original' condition. This bike was loved and cared for then rebuilt to the highest standards possible.
