You are bidding on an absolutely stunning, all original, un-restored 1980 Honda CBX 1000. This beautiful Honda is worthy of any motorcycle collection.This motorcycle was purchased from the original owner May 18th, 1985 with 1701 miles. Since then the CBX 1000 was ridden sparingly, now showing 1936 original miles. Later, the decision was made to preserve the bike in its original condition. The bike has since been stored in a climate controlled environment as part of collection in Colorado. This motorcycle is virtually flawless. The only blemishes I can find are a tiny stone chip in the paint on the front right leading edge of the gas tank (I have tried to take a photo to show this), very slight imperfection in the black paint finish on the front brake master cylinder is evident where the metal meets the plastic reservoir(Please see photo), the rear tail section shows very very fine cracks in the paint clear coat around the key slot for opening the rear cubby(Please see photo) Other than these incredibly minor blemishes, the bike is flawless condition, and presents itself as new. The paint is in stunning condition as are all the metal, plastic and rubber finishes. The decision has been made to NOT fill the tank and carburetors with fuel as the new owner may wish to place the bike into a collection. The CBX has a fresh battery and spins up freely on the starter button. All electrical functions work as they should. As you would expect the Honda comes with owner manual, tool kit, 2 keys, tire pressure gauge and the battery 'spacer' if you choose to install a smaller battery. This bike is quite a rarity as it is a 'Made in the USA' CBX. Honda opened a manufacturing and assembly facility in Marysville, Ohio in 1980. As far I can learn from internet research there were only 3150 produced at this facility, making it much much rarer than the 23-24 thousand bikes produced in Japan in 1979. The VIN label reads 'Made in USA of US and Japanese Parts' This truly has to be a collectors dream with so few produced out of the Ohio plant.
