With a name like Ranchero and emblems/logos incorporating longhorns there was no doubt that this car was marketed for farms, ranches and other outdoor activities. Built off the station wagon platform these cars incorporated a reinforced bed in back with the front still looking like the luxury coupes and sedans of the time, rock solid trucks and renown for its elegance mated with performance and durability. This 1957 Ranchero is an older total frame on restoration and on what was already a rock solid California 80,000 Mile survivor. It is a two owner California Ranchero with the last owner having it for 25 years! This Ranchero is a true San Jose CA built car and has been in California ever since. The exterior has been beautifully finished in Starmist Blue and Colonial White. The chrome bumpers are in great shape and have a nice shine and have been rechromed, and check out those two spot lights! The glass is all cleanly mounted in place and free of damage. The car rides on custom air shocks which are perfectly combined to give the Ranchero and aggressive stance...it sits perfectly - new air shocks. Under the hood is the rebuilt 292 cubic inch Y-Block V8 that is a stout performer with lots of power and looks great as its highly detailed. The Dual Exhaust has a nice throaty rumble. Backing the motor is the 3 speed automatic transmission that shifts smoothly and is a real pleasure to drive. The interior is completely restored in Starmist and white to match the exterior giving it a classic 50s look. The bench seat is very comfortable and all of the upholstery work is in good shape. The dash is all painted blue and is topped with the original style gauges, knobs, switches, etc. The bed of the car is nicely painted and finished out as well and offers a ton of storage space.
