Vehicle Detail

Hello, this listing is for my 1953 Ford F-800 "Big Job". It was originally a fire truck for the Winfield Fire Protection District in Winfield,IL. I am including a picture of this exact truck from when it was still in service. It has only 7,455-actual miles on it. It was retired in 1989,and has sat in storage from then until a few years ago. I do not know where the tank went that was on it,I never got it with the truck. The truck has a Clear IL title. This would make a great car hauler/ramp truck...which was the plan for me,but I have too many projects and not enough time. The frame is 13-ft long from behind the cab to the end of the frame rail. The body has just about zero rust on it,the right rear cab corner has a few tiny little rust spots starting to show, none are through, just starting to pop up...that`s it,no other rust on the entire body. No dents,no bondo. It was repainted once several years ago the original color, but still retains the original paint inside the cab and under the hood. The interior is all original and still in great shape. The headliner is missing though. No rips or tears in the original seat or door panels. It has it`s original, first year,317ci Lincoln OHV V8 engine, which was called "The Cargo King" in the trucks. The transmission is a 5-speed manual. Someone had converted it to 12-volt with a GM style alternator. I installed a new Pertronix ignition, and installed a new OEM carburetor. It will start and run if you prime the carburetor with gas or starting fluid. It will still need the fuel pump replaced to stay running. The clutch is good. The brake master cylinder needs to be rebuilt or replaced. That said,it is not currently in drivable condition. It will still need the already mentioned items to get it there. All lights/signals do work. The tires are old and worn, but I will offer the buyer a full set of brand new 10.00-20 tires for an extra $500.00 over the final price, they are NOT INCLUDED with the listing. This will fit on a 18-ft flatbed car hauler trailer. 1-month storage will be included with the purchase price, anything more can be negotiated. I have set what I believe is a fair reserve on the truck. I am sure that I am forgetting something,so please ask ANY and all questions before you bid!! You are welcome to come see it in person if you are able to do so. It is located in Mokena,IL right off of I-80 and Harlem Ave. $60.00 deposit due within 48-hours,the rest due within a week. Any type of funds must clear before vehicle will be released. If you show up in person to pay then bring cash, otherwise you will need to get a hotel room and wait.
