Vehicle Detail
No Reserve auction is for a 1977 Granada coupe with a 250 straight six and a 4-speed manual transmission (4th is overdrive). I bought this from the original owner early last year and have used it the last couple summers for cruising. It has 78 thousand actual miles and runs great. The front tires, clutch and fuel pump were replaced in the last two years (very few miles). The rear tires, battery and brakes look recent also, but I don't have the time frame. It drives well with power steering and brakes (front disc) also has working AC and delay wipers. The believe the AM radio still works (it worked last year), but the speaker is now broken around the center and will need to be replaced. It will run down the road at 60mph easily and will hold interstate speed (75) unless climbing a long grade. Car was built for the 55mph speed limit, so keep that in mind. Mostly original paint with some minor touch ups over the years, so it's faded and has many chips/nicks (they don't show up well in the photos) and has a small dent with scuffs on the drivers door. The partial vinyl top has been removed and that area has been painted (not perfect, but turned out well). It was rust pitted in places under the top and has some other rust starting in the normal locations (lower wheel wells, lower door corners etc.) The yellow has some epoxy primed areas mostly at the old vinyl top edge. The rear window leaked and water made its way under the rear seat area and foot well carpeting rusting those areas. I replaced the bad areas with metal and treated with POR-15. The lower rear window trim area isn't rotted out, but water is still making its way past the seal into the car. This will need to be looked at to prevent future problems (I'm guessing the rear window will need to come out and get resealed properly). Trunk floor, front pans and frame rails are in good condition. Still has the original gold tint windshield (has a repaired rock chip). The drivers seat is torn and the dash pad is cracked. The carpet is fair as well as the rest of the interior (couple cuts on the door panel). Heat and AC controls, wipers, horn and lights all work except some of the dash lights including the left indicator arrow and light for the gas gauge. Owners manual is in the glove box. It has dual remote mirrors and optional cornering lights. It's not a show car, but a good daily driver classic car or a restoration project. The photos don't pick up all the flaws, but give a pretty good idea as to the condition. Remember, it's almost 40 years old and anything could happen, so of course its sold as-is. A strong small block and some wheels could make this a fun car without a lot of work. I had some slots on it for a while and it gave a whole different look. I included a pic with those wheels for reference, they are not included. I have a clear title in my name and will provide a 30 day temp plate for driving home. A $200 PayPal deposit required 48 hours after auction end with the balance due within 7 days. Cash at pickup is preferred, but a cashiers check can be used for prepayment if arrangements are made. Shipping is the buyers responsibility. I can work with the buyer and keep the car here for an agreed time after payment is made if needed. Please e-mail me with any questions. If you have 0 or low feedback (new user etc.), I may message you to confirm your intentions. If I don't receive a response, I may choose to cancel bids. I normally have good luck with the E-Bay community, but have had game players bid in the past. On Oct-14-15 at 08:05:23 PDT, seller added the following information: Edit: Don't know what car I was thinking about, but the Granada does NOT have delay wipers, just High & Low. Must have been the placement on the turn signal that through me off......sorry for the confusion, Skinny Also, the radio went completely silent, for sure the speaker is bad, but now no noise at all. Please e-mail me with any questions and thanks for looking.
