Vehicle Detail
1965 Honda 160 CL 4 speed vintage racer. It has been totally rebuilt, with the idea of running on the "salt" at this years August Bonneville event. Unfortunately for me, (at 200 lbs.) it does not have the HP to get me up to the straight flat out speed in the class I have entered. So, I have made a decision to pass in on to a lighter, (younger) track racer. It runs on Castor Bean racing Oil like in the old days. It smells great. Bump start or kick, your choice, either are easy to light it up. Most of the nuts have been drilled for safety wire, has a safety kill switch lanyard, steel chain guard and scatter pan, which should get you by pretty much any tech inspection. The engine is known as a 'sloper" meaning that the cylinders are slanted forward as opposed to the later engines which had their cylinders perpendicular. Parts are easily available and not ridiculously expensive. A great vintage racer which can easily be run, "right out of the box". Here is what has been done: Fairing, tank and engine scatter pan from Glass from the Past. New cam, cam chain and tensioner. Head porting, (mild). Bored .75 over New Pistons and Rings, (5 hours on engine). Valve job with new valves and racing springs. New Brake shoes on both front and rear. Brake hubs drilled. Points ignition. Accel Super coils. New front seals. Carb overflow catch container. Clip on's. Rear sets. Quick throttle. Kill switch lanyard. New swing arm bushings. New Hagon shocks. New Barnett Kevlar clutch plates. Racing clutch springs. Total loss battery ignition. New battery. Wired for battery tender Trail Tech ITO Tach/Hour meter. New D.I.D. chain. New Avon Road Runner 3.10 X 18 tires. Stock carbs with 92 main jets drilled out to 120. Powder coated velocity stacks. K & N air filters. A great vintage Honda race ready track bike that is easy to run and won't "break the bank" to maintain. I will help in coordinating with a shipper, however it will be up to you to arrange for the cost of pick up and delivery.
