This auction is for a 1966 GTO convertible (67 Grill). The car runs and drives however it needs complete restoration. It has been sitting (garaged) since 1991. The 400 engine and TH 400 transmission are not original to the car. Engine block is 1970 Pontiac 400. Engine code is XM, heads 16, block casting date K149 (Dec 1969), Carb Rochester 7041264. It does run however it needs to be gone through before I would trust it on the road. Here is a youtube video of it. It needs drivers and passenger floors, Under the back seat is solid. The hydraulic cylinders leaked over the years and kept the metal from getting attacked. The trunk also has some spots. The frame is solid however it will need body mounts. Basically it needs a frame off restoration to be done right. The interior needs to be completely redone. Comes with a set of 66 buckets. The top needs to be redone. The shifter is a later hurst his and hers that someone added when they put the automatic in it. The car was originally a manual however I'm not sure if it was a 4 or 3 speed. The power brakes are drum at all 4 corners. Power steering. The rear is a 10 bolt Pontiac posi. I'm not sure of the ratio but the posi does work. Comes with what appears to be all the stainless trim, a set of 4 15" rally II wheels, second instrument cluster with wiring harness, rear bumper brackets and several other boxes of parts. I have not researched it but this is definitely a true GTO convertible that will only go up in value. Please email me your questions. I can help deliver the car a reasonable distance. I went ahead and jacked up the car and took some pictures of the frame and sheet metal from below. Again the frame is solid. The rockers on the back side have issues where the floor cross members attached. The floor needs attention so I don't see this as a big deal. There is also some back yard fabrication that took place when the manual was removed and auto put in. They welded brackets to the frame because they has to move the transmission cross member. I also removed a piece of sheetmetal that was under the dual gate shifter. Again they hacked the tunnel up in the process of adding the automatic. The car needs floor work so its just the same.
