You are looking at a 1968 Chevelle 396 SS 4 Speed sport coupe. This is a real SS 4 speed car with factory bucket seats. The motor is a 396 however it is not the born with 396 big block so the numbers dont match the motor. The casting number on the heads are #3856206 which indicates the heads are from a 1965-66 Impala, oval port closed chamber, 97cc, big block 396 heads, rated for 325HP. It also has Erson 1.72:1 ratio roller rockers, I will ad the pictures to the listing. I am going to get a light and a mirror and see if i can see the block casting numbers.It has a 12 bolt rear end rally wheels, the motor runs smooth, good torque, it will chirp the tires in the first three gears. The paint is less than three years old and I will call it an upper driver quality paint. It has some flaws and imperfections in the paint especially in the door jams and under the hood. The outside is smooth and glossy, its a very nice car that you will enjoy driving and its not so perfect you are afraid to take it out of the garage. It has new exhaust system with some great sounding mufflers, not to loud but still has the 60s muscle car sound. The vinyl top is in excellent condition. The seats are excellent as is the headliner. The carpet has some faded spots in the front and the rear floorboards. The tires are deep with good rubber, it drives smooth and straight, it will put a smile on your face going through the gears. It has an after market am/fm stereo and thank goodness they did not alter or cut the dash. The door glass and windshield is all good, the trunk is finished out, the hood insulation pieces are in the trunk. It has the SS 396 350hp sticker on the air cleaner and the correct chrome valve covers. The dash pad has been recovered and looks real good. This is a great weekend cruiser and a fun car to take to drive in car shows.
