Up for sale is a very rare find, a 1996 Silverado with 31k Original Miles. The story with this truck goes as follows. The truck was purchased in 1996 by an old man who had it until I purchased it from his son a few months ago. The truck sat for extended periods of time while the old man owned it, which explains why the miles are so low. The problem is, the truck was parked on the grass when it was sitting. This caused the frame to completely rot away slowly. The truck needs a new frame as you will see in the pictures below. I purchased the truck with plans on replacing the frame from another truck but I figured I would see if there is any interest as it sits. If the truck doesn't hit my reserve I will swap the frame out and fix the truck 100%. This truck is a perfect candidate for a restoration. It runs and drives like a brand new truck. The interior is in excellent condition with some minor carpet stains that would easily come out. The exterior has some scratches, some minor dings, and rust starting on the bottoms of the doors. It has the 5.7L Vortec 350 with an automatic transmission. It has power windows, door locks, cruise control, power mirrors, plus much more. Aside from the frame the truck could use rear shocks as they are very stiff, and it needs new front and rear bumpers as they are rusted out. After I purchased the truck I went underneath it and scraped all of the loose "scaling" off of it and power washed it to get all of the dirt out of the crevasses. After that I sprayed a rust inhibitor on it to prevent it from getting any worse. I did this to get a better idea of what I was in for and to at least get better pictures of the major issues. I drove the truck back 60 miles after I purchased it and it really does run and drive like a brand new truck. It is a shame what happened to the frame since it is quite a rare find with the extremely low miles. I tried to take pictures of everything on the truck so you know what you are getting into.
