up for auction 1963 tempest lemans convertible, all original except rebuilt engine, new exhaust, brakes, clutch and tires. interior is completely original and very clean, no tears in seats, dash and carpet are very nice. armrests have some rips and drivers sun visor split at a seam. there are small rust spots on rockers by back of doors and front of the wheel well but they're not that noticeable. original 195 (half a 389 Pontiac v8) was rebuilt 30 over around 600 miles ago, runs awesome. clutch, 'rope' drive and trans axle work as they should but make some noises which all tempests I've seen with this setup seem to make, the torque tube rattles sometimes in neutral with clutch not depressed. transaxle fluid was clean and show no signs of wear. brakes work well and suspension feels tight . the power top mechanically works and has no leaks but top canvas torn and needs to be replaced. all paint is original with exception of front header panel, rear valance and left rear quarter where it was painted a long time ago with matching lacquer, all sheet metal is original and very solid. floors and underside have no rust. paint shines very much and would look even better if wet sanded and polished. there are scratches and dings in some spot but the paint is 51 years old!. if any questions feel free to ask On Oct-16-14 at 11:17:16 PDT, seller added the following information: note, I worded the description of the soft top alittle funny, it is torn, by does not leak I meant the hydraulic lines
