serenus Store ATTENTION OCTAGONIANS AND POSITIVE MEMBERS: I purchased this car on eBay in 2008, at $25,000 as it an I entered this world in the same year. This is somewhat of a crystal ball auction as if it does not sell I will keep it indefinitely. However, finances force me to consolidate my many collections and "Red" as my granddaughter has called this car may be the first of several items to go ( if you are a fountain pen, vintage camera, watch, mechanical bank collector see my other auctions). This car is a sheer joy to drive and brings back times (before I ever experienced it as a driver) of low speed ( less than 40 miles/hr). With its California vents and chrome wire wheels it is the epitome feel of pst WWII sports cars. It turns many more heads than a Testarossa and Countach as well as Porsches I have driven ( however those I may have driven too fast to see the heads) The car is an older restoration in 1998, frame off as I have been told since I do not have. Other than professionally painted in areas of road dings, a new carpet, tire and tonneau cover, walnut burl dash, door locks, tachometer and speedometer cables, clock, external mirrors, exhaust pipe cover and shift knob, I have not changed anything about the body/exterior. MECHANICALLY, I have had the following professionally replaced1. Brake system:2008, Tires 2008 2. Drive shaft: 2009 3. Clutch: 20104. Electronic ignition and battery: 20125. Headlight bulbs : 20146. One carburetor rebuild 2014 ( the other will need it)The above mentioned repairs are akin to my rotator cuff shoulder surgery, as a matter of wear and tear and aging in an old car not as a result of an accident. Most eBay listings describe a car of this vintage in glowing terms because as drivers we love it. I recognize the trade off of vintage car insurance at $200 per year is rewarded by a balance of expenditures to maintain the car. Please remember if the car doesn't sell I am not at all upset as it is a sign of Divine Providence
