Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE One Quick note, realize that the VIN on this van is the VIN on how it came from GMC from the factory BEFORE modifications from Explorer to turn it into a conversion van. When you look at the VIN realize that this started life as a stripped diesel cargo van from GMC.I also have many more pictures of this van. Ebay will not let me post more than 24 and they will not let me include a link to the website that has all the photos on it. if you would like to see more photos, please email me and I will send you the link. Thank you so much for looking at my van. Now for the description: You are bidding on a very rare 2007 GMC Savana 2500 HD conversion van. It was made by a company called Explorer. There’s a lot of GMC Savana’s on the market, don’t let this one get lost in the crowd. Most of those have gasoline engines – this one has a 6.6 Duramax Diesel engine. It’s worth taking a closer look. It is a 7 passenger van with 4 leather captain’s chairs and a rear bench that has an electric folding bed. The van has 115,821 miles on it (maybe more by the time you buy it since I drive it every once in a while) but that is extremely low for a diesel and is barely broken in. It is a powerful, reliable vehicle. I have used it to tow a race car all the way to Colorado and back (5500 lbs. trailer and car combo) and it performed perfectly even when towing through 11,000 ft. mountains. After that ambitious trip, I sent oil samples to Blackstone Labs for testing, they came back with perfect results. I will include the report in the sale. The paint is in perfect shape and the undercarriage seems to be all undercoated and looks great. This van also has a coolant engine preheater installed from the factory. It is a small diesel fired preheater that is plumbed into main tank. When it senses the temperature is under 37 degrees, it fires up this heater to circulate hot coolant through the engine to warm it up faster. You may not need this feature in Florida, but can come in handy during cross country travel. It’s an amazing system. I did not even know these things existed before buying this van. Here is a list of the work I’ve done and the enhancements I made things to the van since I purchased it about a year ago. I am fanatical about my vehicles so I did a lot to make this thing perfect in my eyes. · I work in the floor covering industry, so I measured out the interior and had a full sized floor mat made out of commercial carpet and had it bound. While the original carpet is in great shape, this mat protects it from wear and fits perfectly in the van. · I put 4 brand new Michelin LTX/MS2 tires in 245/75 R17 plus a spare. These are E load range tires for maximum carrying and towing capacity. They are installed on new American Racing ATX wheels (spare is a different alloy wheel). The tires were put on 8,000 miles ago and show almost no wear. · I installed Bilstein HD monotube shocks all the way around - these were very high recommended by the van enthusiasts and do an amazing job of controlling this heavy van (7240 lbs.) · I installed a Hellwig Heavy rear sway bar. This is a MUST for towing with these vans since they do not come with a sway bar from the factory. It also helps this van corner much flatter. · I have done 3 oil changes in my 15,000 miles with this van. Every oil change was with Shell Rotella T6 full synthetic and WIX filters. The last oil change was 12 miles ago. · I changed the transmission fluid to pure synthetic and changed the internal filter. · I changed rear end fluid to pure synthetic. This van has the mechanical locking G80 factory locker so it does not need friction modifier in the rear end. · I put in a brand new factory air filter 1000 miles ago. · I installed a Tekonisha P3 electric brake controller. This is widely known as one of the best brake controllers on the market. · I serviced brakes 5000 miles ago. Rear brakes were good according to the dealer but the front breaks needed pads and rotors so I changed out both. The brake fluid was flushed at the same time. · I replaced the existing 2 batteries with 2 brand new GM batteries. · I installed a rear backup camera and monitor. The camera turns on with a switch in the dash so it can be left on all the time if you want it, not just in reverse. · I had all the windows tinted all with 3M tint. Provides privacy, blocks the bright light and a lot of the heat. There are a few items on the van that don’t work: · It came with an older TV that folds down from the ceiling. It is a cheap piece of junk and it only played DVD's I am told. This TV is dated back from before the digital signals so it would do little good nowadays. In addition, this van must have had a small center console between the 2 front seats at some point before I owned it and that’s where the DVD player was. I prefer the van without the console. I think having the space to walk back and forth is much better, but this console had all the controls for the overhead TV. Without it, the TV turns on, but nothing plays. I suppose you could hook up something to it, but I never bothered to find out how. We liked the idea of having a working TV, so I installed an adjustable wall mount TV bracket that was designed for an RV. We attached a NAXA 22" LED TV with a built in DVD player that runs off of 12v power (made for an RV). I take it down when traveling and install it (quick snap bracket) when we are parked or camping in the van. It works great. This TV with DVD player will be included with the van. · There is a switch in the overhead console in the front says 'indirect lights'. I think it used to control lights in the valances in the windows. I can see lights there but they don't appear to work or be hooked up. The van has 10 other overhead lights so I never bothered to get the valance lights working. I don't know what is wrong with them. Besides that this van is in great shape and runs perfectly. None of those items have ever affected us or our enjoyment of this vehicle. My wife and I loved driving it and traveling in it and would not want to sell it except I have moved up to a 24ft enclosed car trailer for my race car. My car and trailer combo weighs in at 9400 lbs. Although this is still within the towing capacity of the van (9900 lbs.) it is a little too close for my comfort, so I purchased an F250 diesel to pull it. In truth, I still think the van tows better, it is rock steady. This van allows you a lot of options. It can transport a large crowd comfortably. It is wonderful for long distance traveling - plenty of room for luggage, a cooler or fridge even when the bed is down. We also really enjoyed camping with this van. All the back windows have shades for privacy. The 2 center seats are FLEXSTEEL seats and come out with a lever. I put down an extra mat to cover the floor mounts and then lay down the power bed. It is almost a queen size and sleeps 2 people very comfortably. With the seats removed it opens up a ton of room inside for all your other items- just leave the center seats at home! We always had plenty of space, felt comfortable and never cramped. I have taken this van on 5000 mile road trips and trips to the grocery store. It always attracts attention and when people realize it is a diesel they are amazed. It is really a great road trip vehicle.Vehicle requires a $500.00 deposit within 48 hours of auction close via Paypal.
