Vehicle Detail
1994 Commemorative Saab 900 Turbo Offered for auction is this 1994 Commemorative Saab 900 Turbo, one of the last and best of the classic 900 s sold by Saab. And this one is an oldie but a goodie. It's not in show car condition. But it is a nice daily driver with a lot going for it. And this is one of the rare and highly desirable limited commemorative edition convertibles that Saab put out just before they stopped making the old style 900. There is an excellent Saab commemorative edition website where you can look up the specs for this cool car. I can't put a link here, but it is easy to find on Google. Check it out. This model had some pretty unique features including the highest horsepower rating of any of the old classic Saabs and a paint color not offered on any other Saabs. First, let's get the known issues out of the way. I don't know of any major problems. And there may be more than what I listed but these are the ones I know of. It will need tires soon because of dry rot. They have plenty of tread but show dry rot. And when the brakes were recently repaired, it was noted the left rear brake caliper should probably be replaced soon. The top is old and has been patched. It keeps the car dry though. The paint has various issues all over. It has lots of small chips, especially on the front edge of the hood, and some scratches and clearcoat swirls. The only actual dings I saw walking around the car were towards the lower side of the passenger side door as shown in the pictures. The seats stained and ripped as shown. Plus the driver's seat back does not adjust properly. The cruise control is not working. The gas filler neck is cracked. And it sometimes pops out of reverse. Those are the problems I know of. It does not appear there is anything that could not be worked out with a weekend or two of tinkering. And it seems like a solid candidate if you wanted to bring it back to decent show condition. Don't let these problems scare you away. I have been told from past cars I have sold on eBay that I am too honest in my listings spending too much time on the little things that are wrong and not enough time talking about all the positives. Now with all the negatives out of the way, it's a nice car overall and is a lot of fun drive. It starts easily and idles nicely. It rides smoothly and stops well. For a 20 plus year old car, it's surprisingly comfortable and fun to drive. The only reason I'm selling this car is because it just isn't being driven enough (I have two others of the exact same model which tells you how much I like this car.). But I've only put about 500 miles on it each of the last three years for which I've owned it. And those have been some fun miles. It's really hard to go out in the car without some Saab fan wanting to stop you to talk about it. But it's been hard for me to justify keeping it around if I am going to drive it as little as I do. Mechanically it appears to be in pretty solid shape overall. As I mentioned, it drives really nicely. It has newer brake rotors and pads, cat-back muffler, slave cylinder, clutch, and master cylinder. And aside from the cosmetic issues I mentioned earlier, the body appears very solid without the usual rust problems these cars so often have. It's a nice car so I don't know what else to say that the pictures don't show. So please ask questions before bidding. Better yet, come see the car for yourself so you know exactly what you're buying. This car is being sold as-is, where-is, and as-shown. Being almost 20 years old, I will offer no guarantee or warranty on this car. So if you're seriously interested in it, ask any questions you have before bidding. Better yet, I would highly recommend checking out the car in person out before bidding so you know exactly what you're buying. It will be too late after the auction ends. Shipping: The car could be shipped if the winning bidder wanted to make the arrangements and pay all costs. But it needs to be picked up within two weeks from the close of the auction unless other arrangements are made PRIOR to the end of the auction. If that condition is not meet, the car will either be relisted or offered to the next highest bidder. Payments: A non-refundable $500 deposit must be made via PayPal within 24 hours of the close of the auction. And the car must be paid for in full before it can be picked up. I will accept cash or a money order from a major bank. No personal checks unless you are willing to let the check clear before picking up the car. If you have any questions at all about the item or the terms of the auction, please ask prior to bidding. Again, this an older car so it is sold as-is, as-shown, with no guarantee as to reliability, serviceability, or function. But don't let this opportunity to buy a rare old Saab pass you by. There are not too many of these limited edition Saabs left. And in my opinion, this was one of the best C900s Saab ever built. Driving this car with the top down and the tunes up on a cool Autumn night or hot summer day is an experience you should not miss. PS. My apologies to everyone who bid and showed interest when this car was listed last week. I felt really bad ending the auction early. But I got sick and was simply unable to keep up with all the questions and requests to see the car. That will not happen this time. The car is being listed with no reserve and will sell to the lucky highest bidder. Good luck. And to answer the most common question I received last time, I would feel comfortable taking this car on a long drive but would want to fix the tires first. But with better tires, I would not hesitate to jump in this car and drive almost anywhere.
