What a shame, it was the perfect bike for my grandson to use for school and work. I got it from a guy who didn't know what he was doing, it was revving high and he banged it into first. Turns out the choke (fuel enrichment) linkage was fubbared, the cable was wasted, and he broke off one of the carb's enrichment tabs, see pics. So, I fixed the idle, and because he'd bent (my guess) the first gear shifting fork (it pops out of first), had grandson just take off in second gear. If you know this motor, it's torque band is as flat as a table, pulls from idle to above 9 grand, so easily done without damaging the clutch. Cody put 4K miles on it, then it started to get an unknown rattle that sounds as if it's coming from the transmission. My back is no good, so I dare not try and get into the transmission, too much bending over for me. So, away she goes to her next owner. It will easily start and ride right now, the motor is great, no top end worries, runs excellent. Battery is excellent, all lights (no t/sigs) work, as do brakes etc., street legal. Has brand new front tire done 2 weeks ago, rear was done 2 months ago, still very good. It will actually ride as is, the mystery noise stops in higher gears, but who knows for how long without somebody who knows what they're doing to fix the tranny? Best of luck with it, really.
