Vehicle Detail

Please note that experience shows us that the photobucket of over fifty large pixel pictures posted here are in most cases best viewed and downloaded using the very latest and most updated version of the 'Firefox' browser as some other browsers and especially older browser versions are not capable of accommodating the size of the download. Over the years our clients have overwhelmingly been appreciative of our many unaltered large pixel photos posted in our ads and our feedback has been that it is very rare that a seller will post all but the most flattering of photographs. We prefer to expose the complete roll of film taken of the car, in sometimes unflattering but natural sunlight, in order for our prospective buyers to be able to see true and reliable images of the car advertised and that is the reason for some seemingly duplicated shots. We trust you will agree. West Coast Classics are proud to present a seemingly exceptionally rare example of this 1973 Buick Riviera 455 4 Bbl V8 'undocumented' GS Stage 1 coupe in white with a complimenting 'Neutral' color interior and a black Vinyl Roof with a 455 4 barrel V8 engine with a correct casting number 1241735 (1972-75 455 V8) for this model car but with unfortunately no signs of a matching # engine number or indeed an engine suffix code in order to confirm either a Stage 1 (XA Code) 270HP or GS (XS Code) 260HP engine. As typically happens over the years, the block was most likely previously decked by a machine shop during a rebuild and the engine assembly date and suffix codes were probably removed by the machining process and therefore we are unable to confirm with any certainty if this engine is original to the car or not, although as stated, it is indeed a correct casting number for this period and year. Please also note that the car has a reassigned 'U' code VIN number from the State of Washington further confusing the Stage 1 'W' code designated VIN # necessary for a Stage 1 car and therefore we have to conclude that the car is indeed a GS Stage One clone. Nevertheless, although obviously a clone, it is indeed a nice one and priced as such! Factory options including: Automatic Transmission Power Steering Dual Exhaust Tilt Wheel Custom Steering Wheel Deluxe Wheel Covers Protective Body Side Moldings Custom Rocker Panel Moldings Electric Clock Glove Box Light Trunk Light Double-Panel Roof Construction Short Custom Vinyl Roof Covering Factory Air Conditioning The car still boats its original Custom Short Vinyl roof in a black covering and also boasts a very nice interior including the dashboard, steering wheel, carpets and seats. It's original spare wheel and jack are in the trunk. Recently purchased from a local California classic car auction with no signs of any accidents or rust with the floor boards, trunk and all the typically rust-prone areas completely solid and rust free - obviously a most likely always garaged driver since new. The '455' 4 barrel V8 engine is extremely strong and powerful and the suspension is tight and smooth and the steering is excellent. All the power options are working as they should. We have just finished rebuilding the transmission (see photos below), there are no noticeable oil leaks and the temperature always remains cool. This is a great opportunity to own a great daily driving example of a rust and accident free 1973 Buick Riviera, with Boat Tails now becoming harder to find in such fine unabused condition and becoming more desirable than ever before, this is a great opportunity to own a highly desirable and collectible example of one of the outstanding GM designs of the early seventies, a fun investment that's sure to appreciate over the years for any classic American muscle car collector or simply any Buick enthusiast looking for a nice daily driving third generation Riviera!
