Up for auction is one great project restoration car a 1969 Jaguar XKE E-type 2+2 coupe series 2 vin #1r43255BW. The car has been stored in garage for most of its life, a true southern car With no major rust issues the paint is faded as you can see, The floorborads are rock solid no rust as is all the underneath, just some light surface rust in battery box nothing major. The Bad - the car is missing windshield, it looks to have some wiring issues maybe no burnt wires just some good old fashonied southern do it yourself wiring (under hood only as i can tell), The car will not run WE have not really tried to start it although the engine is NOT locked up and and turns over. The dash top has some home made dash cover on the top. the tail lights are missing. some light rust the right front panel in front of hood looks as if it may have had some body work? nothing major that is all the negative thing I see. The good This car has no major Rust issues at all It IS A SOUTHERN CAR THAT HAS BEEN STORED INDOORS for over 25 years. The seats have been recovered but i do not think they are original. Everything under the hood looks very original except wiring all emissions tanks heatshields brackets are there. the gauges all look good, the car is very complete minus the items i mentioned. The floor boards are solid no rust around wheel arches. The chrome wire wheels are shiny with the Jaguar Knockoffs. very original. all seats and trim over gas tank looks real nice. the car has an automatic. The carburettors look like they have been rebuilt at sometime and are complete. The steering wheel is very nice with jaguar emblem. Most of the chrome is shiny the front bumper does have some pits. All the door panels are in excellent shape and are not faded and not torn. The reason we are selling this car is we need some extra cash to buy some more car stuff. I think we all know how that is! there is always something else you get interested in. IT IS way to good to be a parts car but parts are not cheap and if you want to part it out you can. I think it would be a shame though, I know a new bonnet is around $8k and that is more than i am asking for this whole car. It is the cheapest priced XKE listed at this time I do not think you will find a better deal on the internet. These cars are going through the roof the Jaguar xke is a highly sought after car. The Car has no title under Alabama LAW any vehicle prior to 1975 is not required to have a title to sell or obtain a tag for. The buyer will be given a BILL OF SALE check with your state regarding titles.
