Please note that experience shows us that the photobucket of over fifty large pixel pictures posted here are in most cases best viewed and downloaded using the very latest and most updated version of the 'Firefox' browser as some other browsers and especially older browser versions are not capable of accommodating the size of the download. Over the years our clients have overwhelmingly been appreciative of our many unaltered large pixel photos posted in our ads and our feedback has been that it is very rare that a seller will post all but the most flattering of photographs. We prefer to expose the complete roll of film taken of the car, in sometimes unflattering but natural sunlight, in order for our prospective buyers to be able to see true and reliable images of the car advertised and that is the reason for some seemingly duplicated shots. We trust you will agree. West Coast Classics are proud to present an exceptionally straight and rust free and great daily driving survivor of this very rare and original Mopar - an original owner since new 1965 Dodge Custom 880 Convertible with the highly desirable 383 barrel 270HP engine and factory power steering and power brakes! One of only some reported 1,416 Custom 880 Convertible models built in '65 and the top-of-the-line model for Dodge. The newly designed Polara moved upmarket to take the place of the prior 880 line and expanded to include 2 Door hardtop and Convertible models. The Custom 880 continued as an upper trim level Polara model and included all the features of the Polara plus air foam front seats and GM marketed it as "If elegance were spelled in numbers, this would be it!". This car has been owned since new by only one very careful and mature owner and obviously always been garaged in either the dry Arizona or California climates and is rust and accident free and a true survivor car! The car boasts its original 'Light Blue' (Code CC1) color paint and as stated has had just one owner since sold on January 24th 1966 at 'J.E. French Co,' of Berkeley, California and the car will be sold with the original owners Protecto-plate and owners manual and license plate frames (which were removed for the photos) and the cars original build sheet from under the rear seat! The engine was rebuilt in 1995 and the car has less than 5,000 miles on the rebuild. The white interior and matching power soft top are in quite exceptional shape and the car drives beautifully. The flagship model for the Dodge lineup in 1965 was the Custom 880 and with only some 1,416 convertibles produced makes any survivors from this era very rare and would make this particular car a prized asset to any dedicated Dodge or MOPAR collection. The rebuilt 383 V8 engine runs strong and sounds absolutely magnificent and this particular car drives really well - must be driven to be appreciated - does not miss a beat and purrs like a kitten - drives straight as an arrow with no strange road wobbles, shakes or rattles - a truly remarkable daily driver that will give any modern day car a run for it's money! With very few remaining Custom 880 Convertible's left, this is an extremely unusual opportunity to own a great daily driving example of this rare and very desirable original 1965 Dodge Custom 880 '6 passenger' Convertible with power steering and power brakes in very fine daily driving condition ready and for any classic American car or Mopar enthusiast to enjoy or collect today! Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs whatsoever regardless of any oral or written statements about the vehicle. Good luck and thanks for your interest! On Jun-13-12 at 11:38:04 PDT, seller added the following information: Please note that our webmaster made a mistake when writing the ad and that the car actually has its original matching # 383 4 barrel engine with higher 315HP, not 270HP and it is matched with dual exhausts.
