Vehicle Detail
This is a 1970 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Convertible equipped with a rare automatic stickshift transmission. It is in very good driver condition but is not a showcar. It always starts right up, runs, and idles perfectly. It just had a valve adjustment and is very smooth. The car shifts fine and the autostick is a pleasure to drive. The brakes work well with front disks and rear drums and the car needs nothing. Everything works except for the clock on the dash. The top is in excellent condition and the interior is nice. It has the original glass, fold down rear window with the chrome latch. It has a newer carpet and brand new door panels. The seats are in good shape with the driver's side having a small tear along the seam and a small hole in the back part as shown in picture. The factory fake wood plastic covering on the dash is a bit wavy and cracked and could be replaced. The aftermarket radio does get power to it but no speakers are hooked up (speakers are included). The floorpans looked like they were replaced and are 100% solid and perfect. The rockers are solid as shown in pictures. The car had an older restoration and is starting to show age in some spots. There is a chip on the driver's door (see pic) and several chips on the rear decklid around the license light visor (see pic). It is missing the rear bumper. The body is very solid but it is not without faults. There is rust in the spare tire well (see pic), and there are small rust holes in the wheel well of the driver's rear and passenger front tire wells. All spots can be easily patched without messing up the outside of the car. The driver's side front headlight bucket looks like its missing inside and a small amount of rust can be seen under the headlight ring (see pic). Overall this Ghia is in very good shape and is a great driver as is. It has an extremely low reserve and is priced to sell. I am a VW enthusiast who has owned tons of air cooled cars and have done my best to be as honest and open about this description. I encourage anyone to see the car in person and take it for a test drive. I will answer any questions promptly and will speak on the phone if desired. The car is sold as-is and is for sale locally as well.
