Here we have what has to be one of the coolest VW bug drag cars around. Can you say BADA** TURBO !!! I AM LISTING THIS FOR A FRIEND so all info listed is what i received from him. I quote"1966 VW Bug Dragster. This car was originally built by Eddy's Imports in Oklahoma. A must see! It needs someone to get the dust off of it and dazzle the crowd. The motor and drive train are all high performance parts. I inherited the car so I do not know all of the specifics- Block- is out of a VW Bus- 2276 and I believe it is bored to 3114. 94mm Jugs. 7.5 to 1 compression. The turbo is made by Garrett coupled with a Holley 750 DBL pumper. The car has ran on both regular fuel and alcohol over the years. Right now it is set up for alcohol. 8 1/2 inch rear slicks and aluminum wheels. MSD ignition system. Brand new Holley RED electric fuel pump. Most of the wiring was replaced a few years ago. The paint has got some scratches but nothing serious. I also have extras- brand new never used MSD distributor. Many EMPI and BUG Pack extras... I have extra jugs (brand new) but I am not positive they go with the car. Other things that I remember being told... Carella rods, 700lbs of torque, 4 puck clutch by bug pack, Kandy pressure plate. This car has sat in my garage while I pursued a coaching career over the past 10 years. I spent a couple of winters doing little things here and there but never found the time to race again. This car is for the strip only it is not and cannot be street legal." end quote. Now on a personal note after observing and photographing the car as well as watching it do an awesome burnout I can safely say that it is one of coolest and most unique drag cars I have seen. It has wheelie bars and it needs them. It will pull the wheels thru the first three gears. Some observations I have made that were not mentioned in his listing are the fact that it has four wheel disc brakes on it and although the tires are knee deep in tread they have been sitting for over a decade and as you can see in the pics there is plenty of dry rot or cracking along the tread line so in order to be safe you would want to replace them prior to terroriziing the drag strip.This car was very well built and still looks great but there are some minor scrathes and chips along some of the edges. Is is a metal tub but features a fiberglass tilt front end and widened fiberglas rear fenders.There was nothing done half way on this car it is very well built so hats off to the guys at Eddy's Imports in Oklahoma.He told me that as set up on alcohol it will run mid to high 11's and on racing fuel it would run high 10's but at that point you have to start replacing parts.Needless to say this is the most fun you can have at a drag strip for this kind of money and you probably couldn't build the motor for the asking price of the whole car so don't miss out on your chance to own the coolest car at the race track.THERE IS NO TITLE.IT IS BEING SOLD ON A BILL OF SALE ONLY AND IT IS NOT STREET LEGAL.I am sure there is something I may have missed so if you are interested in this or any of my other auctions feel free to e-mail me or give me a call at 316-253-0591 or 316-524-0513 (Larry).We want all of our customers to be satisfied when they deal with us so please call and get your questions answered BEFORE you bid.Buyer to pay for and arrange shipping.PAYMENT TO BE MADE BY CASH IN PERSON OR BY BANK TRANSFER.A DEPOSIT OF $500 IS REQUIRED BY PAYPAL WITHIN 48 HOURS. HE TRIED TO CONTACT THE BUILDER IN OKLAHOMA AND HE IS AWAY UNTIL MONDAY . SO WE WON'T KNOW THE SPECIFICS OF THE ENGINE UNTIL AFTER THE AUCTION IS OVER. HE WAS ABLE TO CONFIRM THAT IT IS INDEED A 2276 BLOCK THAT HAS BEEN BORED. I TRIED TO REMOVE THE INFO ON THE 3314 AND THE 94 MM JUGS SINCE I CAN'T CONFIRM THOSE STATEMENTS BUT SINCE THE AUCTION HAS BIDS EBAY WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO DO SO. SO AGAIN....
