Vehicle Detail
This super nice 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 belongs to one of my clients. His Aston Martin DB4 is nearing completion here in our shop so the Alfa has to go. He purchased the car in 2005 from Bobcor as a gift to his new bride. The odometer showed 60,343 miles when he bought it and now shows 64,163. There are claims in the paperwork that this is original mileage but there is no proof of this. It is certainly possible given the condition of the car. The VIN number is AR3025813 with a production date of 10/1974. The original fuel injection system has been replaced by Weber carburetors. The fuel injection system is not with the car. We had the car up on the lift and the undercarriage is extremely tidy. You can view these pictures by clicking here. There is no evidence of rust or accident damage ever. Koni shocks are fitted with heavy duty springs. The exhaust system is recently new. We just installed 4 new Pirelli 195/70/14 tires and performed a wheel alignment. All the undercar appears to be in great shape. The body and paint are very nice with some minor flaws. There is some cracking around the antenna hole as shown, some very minor bubbling to the paint here and there (hard to see in the pictures), some very minor dings, and some very slight waviness to the top of the left front fender. Given all of this, the paint presents very well and without close examination looks really great. All the glass and brightwork are in fine condition. The wheels are Cromodora and look fairly new. The interior appears to be original and is in great shape except for some minor bubbling to the dash top as shown. All gauges, switches, and electrical perform as they should. The car has factory air conditioning but this needs to be serviced as it does not appear to be working. The compression readings are 155/175/165/155. On the road, this Alfa runs out great. The engine is very strong and revs willingly with a strident exhaust note. The 5-speed gearbox shifts flawlessly with perfect synchros. Brakes, steering, and suspension are all as they should be. This is a fun car to drive enthusiastically. This is a great example of one of the last of the classic Alfa Romeos. Please let us know if you need any more information or have any specific questions.
