Vehicle Detail
HOT CAR isn't it? A real head turner without a doubt! 1971 Maco Shark Corvette T Top Coupe – titled as a '71 Corvette 2 Door Coupe. The vin numbers on the cowl match the title card. The front and rear clip are Maco Shark.” Color: Eldorado Plum Pearl This stunning coupe was redone by an experienced, talented and meticulous collector of unique vehicles. It has been in storage in the seller's temperature controlled shop/garage for several years. It's been well maintained and has NO Minnesota rust. This baby has never seen bad weather. Note: collector plates which are transferable. Some history: When purchased 15 years ago it had some damage on the original rear clip but no damage to the frame . This seller bought a Maco Shark kit for $5,000.00 and all new parts when putting the car together. This was a frame off project. The frame was in perfect shape with no signs of rust. It was sand-blasted, primed and painted. The frame has all the original running gear such as front end components and rear end components. Engine was rebuilt about 10 years ago and has the rebuild stamp. It was bored and stroked at that time. However, the heater core is starting to leak a bit now. It's a stock 350 cubic inch with a 4 barrel Rochester Carburetor and real chrome hooker headers made for a Corvette. This little beauty runs great and sounds outrageous. Transmission is a 5 speed manual – out of a Mazda Spider. Currently it does jump out of 4rd gear when deactivating sometimes – but never on acceleration. Tires and rims are like brand new. Rims are ultra-lite. The T-tops are the original ones from the Corvette factory. It has a new radio with CD player & big speakers in the rear. As with anything of this vintage – there are some imperfections. The mileage is unknown, but believed to be low. It does not have a gas gauge or odometer. But, it does have a digital speedometer and mechanical oil pressure/water temperature and charging system gauge. There are maybe 2 spots where the paint has glazed a little. There is also a new CD stereo system. The original wiring harness is tucked under the dash. It's all there and could be hooked up to original dash if so desired. The interior is mostly custom made - such as console and dash – with crushed velvet over the original door panels. The seats are also original and were reupholstered in crushed velvet. Although redone with the vehicle was originally redone – the interior is still in excellent condition as you can see in the photos. Car paint color is Eldorado Plum Pearl – have paint info and paint # if needed. Graphics are done in vinyl - including the flames and can be removed. Note: Has no rear window. Driver and passenger's windows need to be adjusted. They do not close quite to the top. There is no Power brakes and no power steering I KNOW YOU'LL HAVE QUESTIONS. Email me – I answer them all. I also have plenty more photos. Shipping: We ship quite a few vehicles from here, we can arrange shipping or you can come and pick it up. It is going to run at least $600.00 to $800.00 depending on location. OR Take a road trip, get a trailer and come and get her. With in a tri state area, she would be a NICE ride home. No trades. I have just spent the afternoon with this vehicle and the owner, I have only touched the surface on how, things were done, parts that were used, This is a custom built carif you are interested, interested enough to buy, I will put you in contact with the owner, he will give you your answer to all the questions you could have. He will tell you just as it is.
