Hello, thanks for taking the time to view my car. I am selling my 81 C3 Corvette - Great easy winter project to have ready to enjoy in the summer! It is currently registered in my name, and I take it out for drives on nice weekends (one of my toys you could say) It does need some work, but has many good points and recent work done (read below) This vette needs: alternator rebuilt or replaced u joints replaced (worn not broken) seats re upholstered vacuum hoses replaced on headlights (do not always open or close quickly) Recently done: Both rear calipers and pads (brand new) Power steering control valve and hoses (NO P/S LEAKS!) New Battery Spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor Air hoses for rear suspension (has adjustable air shocks in rear) New parts I have yet to be installed: Brand new corvette radio 4 new center caps (correct year) Both hood cables and latches, new as well Valve cover and oil pan gaskets (valve cover gaskets leaking) Transmission filter, fluid, pan gasket (gasket leaking) This car has been in storage since the mid 90s, only taken for short rides and to car shows since then Engine runs well, does not overheat, and has good oil pressure Transmission engages and shifts well Power steering and power brakes function well Has 4 matching BF Goodrich tires on its original mag wheels - good tread left - wheels could use some polishing up Has desirable factory options - power drivers seat - Air conditioning (all there, needs to be converted, its still R12) Also has mirrored / chrome t tops Very sought after color combination, fire engine red with black interior Frame has NO rust or rot, extremely clean! Exterior: has some fiberglass cracks, none terrible, typical age blemishes. Paint is not original Interior: seats need to be re upholstered. dash and door panels are very nice. carpets look decent. Drivers door armrest, rear view mirror, and drivers visor are missing Speedometer and odometer not working (suspect speedo cable bad) all other gauges work including the pods! All of the lights work, windows work (somewhat slowly) power antenna works, ect This car can and is driven as is, but do not recommend a long distance drive due to alternator (I take out the battery and re charge after driving - alt is weak) Title is specified as other, due to it having a tmu brand stating not actual mileage. No idea why, look at the autocheck for mileage info. See my feedback, I describe items honestly, and to the best of my ability I WELCOME AND ENCOURAGE you to come and see this in person. Have a mechanic locally you trust? I have no problem bringing the vette to them for an inspection (must be local or come to the vehicle) Title and keys in hand. Starting price has NO RESERVE. Keep in mind this car is an antique, and is by no means perfect. I get compliments every time I drive it! I have owned it for over a year, and am only selling to gather finances to build a new garage.
