1953 Volkswagen Kombi. Just over 20,000 km since new. Originally sold to the Hukla Furniture company in Hamburg Germany. Owned by the factory until 2004. This vehicle has benefited from a ground up restoration including all necessary mechanical and cosmetic work. The paint and body work was done to a very high standard and is show quality. All rust was removed and damaged panels were replaced where needed. The nose is untouched and original as are the rear corners. The floors were replaced along with a section on the drivers side. The body was taken to bare metal and sprayed with single stage L31 Dove Blue. The panel fit is very nice and all doors close as they should. The interior is very clean and largely correct. The rear cargo mat is new and the rear seat has been recovered. The dash is beautiful and the original km speedo is in fabulous condition. Original key works on both ignition and door. Mechanically the bus is flawless and needs nothing but a new owner. The later 36hp engine just received a tune up including plugs, points, cap, rotor, rebuilt generator, and battery. The suspension up front is new and the bus rides as it should. This is a very complete barndoor that you can drive everyday. The transmission is original to the bus. Nice bias ply tires mounted to correct 16" wheels including spare. Original Headlights. Original Taillights.  The rear window and much of the cab glass is original large logo SEKURIT. Includes early HWE full length roof rack. In the 7 years since restoration the bus has managed to stay very nice, although there are a few very minor imperfections.
