Vehicle Detail
Road6Customs Store 1941 Ford Rat Rod Pickup This is a pretty cool little truck. Whoever built this spent a lot of money on parts to make it work niceThe truck uses the popular 40's style ford "Cross Steering" which is original to this truck and offers much less "bump steer" than traditional steering. Aftermarket spindles that use common chevrolet disc brake components was added to the front end, that right there wasnt cheap! It has a Ford 9" rear end, which is what all the hot rodders want. It is a Posi, and seems to have 308:1 or close to it anyway.Because of this rear end and the disc brake conversion on the front, about any cool wheel they make will fit. You dont have to use some weirdo bolt pattern. It has an expensive, THICK Aluminum Radiator that cost around $600.00. I think its a Tri-Five style, but im not positive. It cools good and its the right shape of radiator for any of the "Rat Rod" shaped grille shells. The suspension offers a "Split Wishbone" Kit, for better handling. It has Stewart Warner Gauges, which cost a pretty penny as well. The seat was custom made by an interior shop and is in great condition. I also has one of those expensive "Lokar" shifters. It also has a "Painless Wiring" wiring harness. The top was chopped, Im not sure how much, but the good part is that the custom windshield and rear window was already made and installed. There is no door glass. The doors have a "suicide" kit so they open backwards. The grill appears to be a Chevy Grille, not sure what year. The headlights are new from speedwayA custom Aluminum Fuel Cell was made for it, and its got a working gas gauge in the dashThe engine is a Small Block Chevy out of a 70s Chevy Pickup. Other than it starts and runs smooth thats all I know about it. The trans is a Turbo 350 with a shift kit that was built by BG&S transmissions. This is my history with this truck:I owned this pickup a couple of years ago, and at that time it had a differnt engine in it. I drove it a lot, several thousand miles. When I sold it, I kept the engine and sold it with no engine at all. I took the pickup back in trade recently with the intent to drive and enjoy it. Well, Now Im buying another bike so some of my other toys need to go. After getting the truck back there are a few things that it will need. The rear brakes dont seem to be doing anything. Judging by the pedal pressure I would say that they need bled. The front brakes have new calipers on them and work fine. The shifter needs a little adjusting. You can Park, Reverse, Neutral and Drive work fine, but sometimes its sticky when you want to shift into 2nd or Low manually. This is simply an adjustment, Lokar shifters are top notch and I have no doubt that this is a simple fix. It needs rear tires. I did an enormous burnout with it when I owned it before and pretty much killed the tires. The guy that bought it from me had diffent rims on it while he was driving it, and when I got it back it had my old ones on it. The engine drips a little oil. He didnt want a shiny motor in it since its a rat rod. I'd toss some valve cover gaskets and some chrome covers on there and rock and roll. The engine seems to be very smooth and reliable. Pretty much just stick some tires on it, adjust the rear brakes and go have a good time! Im not interested in doing any work on the truck before it sells. If I do I'll just want to keep it!500 dollar deposit due withing 24 hours of auction end. Balance due when its picked up. I tried to answer everything I could in the description so if you have any questions please read the listing again. If you question is not answered then please ask.
