This is one of the better condition 1979 Thunderbirds around and by far the best on ebay. The paint is shinny and flawless and looks new, there is no rust on this except a light coating in the wheel wells and some on the underbody but nothing that is of concern or serious, definitely no rust through and I have owned this since 1995 and that little rust has not spread or gotten worse at all since then. Some paint chips behind the rear wheels that have never rusted thanks to Fords galvanized steel. It also has a couple door dings and a dent on the driver side front fender that is pictured. I never drive it in the snow or rain and is always in a dry garage and only taken out about 300 miles a year during the summer for shows. This was previously a Nebraska car until I purchased it. The interior is absolutely flawless with no fade or wear, the seats are always covered and the factory green tinted windows have kept the sun from ever damaging or fading the cloth, the dash even looks new. It all looks new as well as the engine compartment. This has the luxury instrument cluster that most Thunderbirds did not have as well as the sport wheels and the rocker panel chrome that was all part of the sports decor group that this has. The engine is a 302 V-8 that runs perfect and has had 10W-30 full synthetic oil ever since I bought it. The transmission is perfect and has had the fluid replaced regularly. The engine and transmission are 100% original, never rebuilt and use no oil at all. The only reason I wish to sell this is so I can buy a 1996 or newer Chevrolet or GMC 4x4 truck and have room for it, although I really hate to let her go I do not have the room to have so many cars and tractors.
