1955 Chevrolet Corvette, car # 139, 0 miles since extensive three year restoration body off restoration (we stopped counting the hours after we hit 2,000), exceptional quality, one of the nicest '55 Vettes in existence, perfect show piece for a high end museum...Pebble Beach quality paint, chrome, body fit and finish. No expense spared or detail over looked. Restored gauges by Corvette Clocks by Roger, rebuilt carb by Chuck Smith, restored radio by Bob's TV and Radio, rebuilt starter and generator by John Perkle, replated chrome by a high end plating shop...The body was done by an old time professional who has done fiberglass body work for 40 years. The guidance given to him was to make the body perfect and he accomplished the goal. All numbers match! The car is ready for NCRS judging and will easily score a Top Flight certification (however, the car will lose points because the paint and body are too nice - both are over restored). Brand new Al Knoch interior (installed by Al Knoch at Bloomington) and soft top, restored soft top bows and frame, restored steering wheel by Tom's Wheel Restoration, correct wheel covers with spinners, correct Firestone "Deluxe Champion" WWW tires, correct wheels, rebuilt engine, heads and tranny, restored Harrison radiator with correct date code and tag, correct heater shut off valve, correct heater hoses, correct manifolds, correct starter, distributor, restored heater, original side curtains with correct bag, correct never used Firestone spare tire, correct wheels, etc, etc... This car is as nice as my '53 Vette that sold at Hilton Head in 2007 for $440,000. I am selling only because I am about to restore by next '53 Vette (car number 266). I will accept the following trades: a 1954 Vette needing restoration, a brand new low option 2010 or 2011 Corvette or a low mileage, one owner 2006 Viper coupe...I will need to determine the trade in value on your car before the auction ends.
