1960 Volvo PV 544 Coupe Hot Rod Project NO RESERVE!!!!!!!! You are looking at one of my father's last unfinished projects. Unfortunately, if you have been following our past auctions, you will know that my father passed away before his last car, a 1970 Challenger, Item Number 120555248020 closed. While he has left us with a world of great memmories and lessons, he has also left us with a few unfinished projects. You are looking at a 1960 (I beleive) Volvo PV 544 Coupe. My father bought this car during his battle with cancer, since it reminded him of the one he and his brother used to race back in South Africa in the 60s. We still have a trophy from one of those races. He had big plans to restore it, and make it a clone of his old race car from back home. Sadly, he did not get to finish this one, but he built many great cars over his years, including genuine GT40s, Prototype Ferrari Tour de Frances, Ferrari GTOs, Bugattis, and just about every cool car you could imagine! (google him - Glen Kalil - to see some of his past cars) This looks to be a very original survivor, and my father only had the car primered to protect it. As I recall, it was a totally original example, and the floors still have the original floor mat with VOLVO molded into it. The upholstery is also original, although the driver's seat has a split in it. (See pictures) The car starts and drives, however, the brakes are gone in this one as well. It looks to have a B16 engine. It also has the dual carb option that added a little more performance. This car does need a nice restoration. While it is a great survivor, with the original interior, engine, and until recently, paint, it does have rust in the rockers and in other places. Please see the pictures, and look carefully. Also, several fellow ebayers have corrected me on some of the car's information. I do not know too much about these cars, so please excuse the listing if I have a few errors in it! Thanks to all that have helped me describe it more accurately. Hopefully, someone will return this little car to its previous glory, or a nice Hot Rod!
