Vehicle Detail
Here is the Triumph Tiger 110 - the first year of the new Performance alloy-head, 650cc Pre-unit model. Until this model, the only 650cc was the iron-head Thunderbird. The T110 is the predecessor to the Bonneville and is a genuine sports model from the classic period. This new model is finished in the correct Triumph sky-blue paint with a silver sheen. These performance machines came with a Manual-Advance Lucas K2F Magneto. You will notice some special features of this model: the elegant 8 inch front brake with air-scoop; long-stem magneto advance lever; stock Vokes air-filter, located between the oil tank and battery/toolbox; the 120mph Smiths Revolator Chronometric Speedometer; 2 inch Lucas ampmeter. All electrical components are genuine Lucas - not Repro., including the E3L 60 watt dynamo. 405 miles is shown on the speedo which had been serviced. This is the mileage since restoration. The chrome centre strip with fittings (not shown) for the gas tank is new and not fitted. Frame number 079541. The seat is not the original - newly manufactured. This machine is in Stock condition - all parts are correct for the model and year. It has been fully restored using factory parts wherever available. The engine and gearbox work was done by Hutchinson on the east coast some years ago. The motorcycle has been in dry storage in Southern California for many years and has been started and run periodically. It starts well and runs strong. Compression is very good, all gears select and the clutch works well. The Magneto sparks well and the dynamo generates voltage as required. The chain is new, tires were new when it was restored, seem to be in good condition but may well need replacement now. It will require a new battery. All rubbers are proper Triumph. The twist grip and handlebar grips are genuine Long-type Triumph although the left-side grip has a split. The engine number is the Vin. number on the California Title.
