Vehicle Detail

The time has come for me to sell my beloved 2005 Subaru WRX Impreza. I would keep it forever, but with kids on the horizon I have leased a "dad car." For the right person this car will be a hell of a find. Most importantly: it's automatic. I know that's not everyone's cup of tea, but if it's yours, you'll know these cars aren't easy to find in automatic. It's black, has the premium sport package (meaning: sun roof, spoiler, premium audio, seat warmers, etc) and it has just under 146,000 miles on it. I have kept the engine and the mechanical systems in GREAT shape, and have basically no mods to the car whatsoever. Everything original and stock.I am the car's one and only owner. (It was originally purchased in my mom's name and then transferred to me, so records may say "two owners." But it's always been my car.) Title is clean -- I've owned it outright since I drove it brand new off the lot 13 years ago.And I really don't drive it all that hard considering it's a WRX.I am obsessive about getting it serviced, and only get it done at the Subaru dealership, so you know it's been done right. I have the last five years of service records printed and ready for you -- beyond that, Subaru archives the records, but I bet we could get them to dig up copies if necessary. I also have a CarFax report purchased June 14, 2018 which I am more than happy to share.I believe the car has only been in one or two minor accidents. The CarFax report shows one undated accident that happened between May 2005 and 2006. It's been a while, but from what I remember I was hit on the passenger side on my way to my first day at a new job, and the repair required some work to the doors on that side. I don't remember it being too major though -- I remember driving the car to the job that day, and not even being late despite the accident. The car really has been kept in wonderful shape -- especially the engine and mechanical systems. (If you would like to hire a mechanic to do a full independent inspection, you are more than welcome to do so.) In the interest of full disclosure, I will tell you absolutely everything I can think of that has been or is wrong with it, and include pictures of all these problems in any instance where photos are possible (numbered accordingly). Aside from what's mentioned here and shown in the pictures, I believe everything else is in as good of shape as could be asked for.Pictures: https://imgur.com/a/3YDCKEl1) There is a dent in the front passenger side corner panel2) One foglight cover is missing near the dent (these can be replaced for roughly $40 on eBay, but I wanted to be sure I could say everything is original manufacturer in this ad, so I figure better to have the new owner do the replacement)3) and 4) There are two minor drivers side dents5) A few scrapes on the under carriage6) and 7) The back bumper shows signs of...bumpage. Some paint chipping, and a slight...misalignment?...on one side8) The paint job has a few water spots (I couldn't really capture this on photo, but I can show you in person)9) The CD player doesn't really work anymore -- or it works for a minute or two before stopping and making a TERRIBLE sound. The radio and all other parts of the stereo work fine. 10) There are two worn spots in the carpet under the floor mat on the driver's side11) Driver's side floor mat doesn't stay in place very well12) I sticker'd on a Pop Socket mount to the center console for cell phone mounting (can almost certainly be removed)13) and 14) I have added a chrome HEMI badge to the back (I think this is funny, but if you don't share my sense of humor, feel free to remove it), as well as few police stickers on the back windshield. I tried removing the stickers, but I've got a bad back and the angle was hard, so I gave up and left them there for now. They've helped me in the past the few times I've been pulled over, so maybe you'll want to keep them? Anyway, they're there if you want the option.15) I had at one point added an iPod hookup hardwired to the radio, but when the old iPod connector was phased out I removed it16) There is a small crack in one of the windows from when I banged a lamp against it when moving about ten years ago. It's been there for ten years, and I've never really noticed it or been bothered by it17) Passenger side weather stripping sometimes slides out of place -- but is easy to fix whenever it happens (and come to think of it: it's been a while since it's happened)18) Back seat cupholder is busted. I don't think I ever used it once in all the years I had the car, bust still: it came apart or something at some point. I'm not sure how or when -- I don't usually sit back there.19) About a month ago I started to notice a spinning/scraping sound (like a computer fan) about 30% of the time I used the A/C. I took it in for service, and they told me they found nothing wrong except for a few leaves, which they cleaned out. The scraping is gone, but I have heard the spinning sound one time since then.20) There are a few failed smog tests on its record, but the car itself didn't actually ever fail the smog tests: the in-car computer that communicates with the smog test machine was malfunctioning, and it took us about three months to figure out that was the problem, so in the meantime it registered a few of smog tests as "incomplete," which counts as a fail. Once we figured out the problem, I got the computer replaced and the car passed without issue.21) The current key I use is cut on a 3rd party blank, but the dongle is original. I left the original key and the 2nd dongle in a hotel a few years ago and never got it back. Subaru sold me a replacement key blank, but it was my dealer's last one in stock of this type, and the locksmith they sent me to messed that one up, so he gave me a 3rd party blank to cut and use in the meantime. The next few times I went to the dealership I'd check if they had any keys in stock, and they'd always "just sold the last one, but should have more soon." After a bit, I just stopped asking. The key I've been using works just as well -- all that's different is the pattern on the black rubber part. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to track down an original blank if you really want one -- through Subaru or otherwise. I believe I even have a backup or two, too. There are a few more minor dings and scrapes I saw when taking these photos, but aside from those I believe that is ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY everything that has been or is wrong with it. But I invite you to come over and check it out for yourself.Feel free to ask any questions, and thanks for looking!
