1970 Chevy Nova SS This No Reserve auction is for a 1970 Chevrolet Super Sport Nova.This is a documented big block Super Sport. It came from the factory with a 375 horse power 396 big block 4-speed transmission and posi-traction. My husband removed the original motor and transmission in the mid 1970's. He replaced them with a small block and automatic trans to make it safer for our daughter's to drive through their high school years. After the girls were through with school, my husband put a non-numbers matching 396 back in the car and left the turbo 400 automatic transmission. It still has the original posi-traction rear end in it. Unfortunately the original 396 and 4-speed were sold after my husband did the small block swap. My husband and I are the third owners and have owned it for over 45 years. My husband passed away a few years ago and it's time to find the nova a new home. The car runs and drives very nice. It has never been in an accident and has always been stored inside. We had the car repainted about 10 years ago. The paint shows a few blemishes, if you catch it at the right angle/lighting. There is some bubbling starting to show on the lower left rear quarter panel. Other than that the paint shines and shows very well. At that time we had the original seats reupholstered, a new carpet installed and had the trunk lined as well. The rest of the interior is all original and in excellent shape. The car has 97,120 original miles on it. There are a couple chips in the windshield. The radio has been removed, "I'm not sure why." It has power steering and front disc brakes. The tires are size 215/70 r14 and are in great shape. This Nova starts right up, runs great with lots of power and is a joy to drive.
