You are bidding on a 1965 Mustang Fastback. It came from the factory with the V8 289 engine, a 2 barrel carb, and a C-4 automatic transmission. The original colors of the car were Wimbledon white with blue interior. It has had at least one repaint in the past but the upholstery appears to be the original blue vinyl it came with. I have not tried to turn the engine over as I had intended to do a complete engine rebuild anyway. The rust in the car is shown well in the pictures and is mostly confined to the front floors. The front floors will need to be replaced, but the rear floors and trunk are not too bad. The trunk lid was exposed to the weather while the car was stored for 7 or 8 years and is badly rusted at the back where the water collected in the rear lip of it. However, I was able to obtain an OEM, correct ’65 trunk lid in excellent condition with no rust (the red one on top of the old trunk in the pictures), and it goes with the car. The spring points are not compromised at all with rust, as seen in the picture. It doesn’t appear that the car has ever been involved in any major accidents. I expect payment within 5 days of the end of the auction. The car can be picked up after your check has cleared my bank. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.
