Vehicle Detail
This Jeep has been my go to adventure vehicle for the last five years, but with a growing family it is no longer big enough for all of us to go camping in together and it is time to let it go to someone who can use her to the fullest. I've done a lot of work on this Jeep to make it overland capable and it has lived up to every challenge. I have driven this Jeep cross country, to Northern Canada, and we made almost annual visits to Moab when we lived out west. As you see from the pictures, the Jeep is a little muddy because right before I took pictures I had to go next door and help pull two trucks out that were buried to their axles in mud. This Jeep goes everywhere and does everything. The only upgrade I never got to was installing a rear locker, and that never stopped us from any of our overland adventures. Front bumper includes a Rough Country 9500 winch with a wireless controller, premium synthetic winch line, and a Factor 55 winch knuckle and 2 rings. Engine: Straight 6 with cast iron headers. This engine is a beast with tons of power and torque. When I lived in Las Vegas, I installed an auxillary fan with an auto/manual switch to help prevent heat bathing the engine during the summer when I was running errands and would turn the engine off, but it hasn't been hot enough here in Ohio to be an issue. Happy to show you how it works in case your adventures take you somewhere hot. Controls are built into the dash, left of the steering wheel. Front Axle: Dana 30Rear Axle: Chrysler 8.25I can't remember what the gear ratio is (was done by previous owner), but the Jeep has tons of low end power and can reach 70 on the highway without difficulty. Both differentials have Riddler diff covers. 4.5 inch lift with 31 inch Mickey Baja tires. Leaf springs are less than 3 years old. Jeep is fully armored with Rusty's engine and oil pan skid plates, JCR sliders and tubes, JCR front bumper with bull bar, JCR fuel tank skid plate, and JCR quarter panel plates. I painted all the skid plates myself with Black rustoleum paint - happy to provide my extras should you need it for matching touch ups. I also have a can of factory burgundy paint for a couple spots on the body I planned on fixing up but never got to. Rear bumper was built by AJs offroad armor and holds the spare tire, 5 gallon jerry can, hi-jack lift, CB antenna, and two recovery rings. The bumper also has two integrated LED reverse lights. Included is a lock to keep all exterior tools secure. I have replaced almost all the lights with LEDs. The headlights are 5x7 semi truck LEDs (DOT approved and so powerful - I love them). The license plate light is an LED. The front bumper holds two LED pods controlled by the fog light switch, and there are 6 LED pods on the roof rack controlled by 4 interior switches by the driver seat (one switch controls front two, one controls back two, and then one switch for each side pod). There are also 10 rock lights underneath the Jeep. We never set up camp in the dark when we went camping with the Jeep. The engine has a semi-snorkel cold air intake that 1) works so much better than the factory set up and 2) created space for a second battery for extended use while camping. I did not set up the wiring for a second battery, but the space is there for that, or for other tools, like an onboard air compressor. I'm including all my custom web netting made by Wrangler Nets. This includes the net that separates the cargo area from the back seat (in pictures), and the net (with extender straps) which works with the roof racks and fits under the rear seat when not in use (I store this under the passenger seat in the back). The only issues I know of are:1) the motor for the passenger side front window quit working last fall2) locking mechanism for when the swing arm of the rear bumper needs to be dissembled and cleaned as it has been sticking recently.4) the winch cover needs to be replaced. I accidentally tore it the day I was taking pictures.5) seat heaters do not work (they didn't work when I got the Jeep).6) AC could use a recharge - blows strong but takes a while to cool down lately. Feel free to ask any other questions. As you can see from the pictures, I've taken very good care of this Jeep and have had lots of fun with her. I am still driving the Jeep, so mileage will be slightly higher than the 137,500 listed.
