Vehicle Detail

(NOTE: Car is being relisted due to winning bidder not responding.)You are bidding on a 1962 Alfa Romeo 1600 Giulia Spider. This is a very original, unmolested, numbers-matching car that needs a full restoration. After doing a complete inventory on the car, the only items I found to be missing were the radiator, spare wheel, and the gas tank. Everything else can be accounted for, including the top bows, little trim items, escutcheons, door handles, exterior trim pieces, etc. This car sat outside for about 5 years with holes in the convertible top, resulting in rusting out of the floors. The rust appears to be confined almost entirely to the cockpit floors, (and is extensive in this area), as well as the rear part of the trunk floor. These two areas will require replacement panels. The rest of the car is essentially rust-free. The rockers show no rust or surface rust, and the front pan is intact and essentially rust-free, as seen in the pictures. NOTE: Because of the rusted-out floors, I had several questions from bidders about the structural integrity of the car the first time I listed it about a week or so ago, so I did a more extensive investigation of the structural components of the body this past week. The findings are the following: There is no flex whatsoever in the body. The doors open and close easily and the shut lines all the way around both doors are equal and symmetric, appearing just as nice as they would have been when the car was new. There is no sagging anywhere on the body. When I put my full weight on the "B" pillar behind the doors, there is still no flex in the body. The rear suspension attaching points are all intact with no rust out there either. If it wasn't for the fact that rain must have sat in the cockpit area and rusted out the floors (and the rear of the trunk floor), this car would essentially be rust-free.NOTE 2: Since the pictures were taken, I have fixed all 4 wheels and tires a few days ago so that all of the tires hold air and all the wheels roll easily, making transport of the car easier. I do not know if the engine will turn over as I have not tried it. I would expect that whoever buys the car will be planning on a complete engine rebuild anyway with new pistons and liners. I expect payment within 5 days of the end of the auction. The car can be picked up after your check has cleared my bank. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Buyer will be given a Bill of Sale only for this car as Georgia is a non-Title state for cars older than 1985. There is NO TITLE for this car. (EBay does not have an option box for “Bill of Sale Only”, so disregard the “Clear Title” option in their heading.) If you have any questions, you can use the “Ask Seller A Question” box.
