Well who remembers this car, way ahead of its time. The Mercury Merkur was hand assembled and built entirely by Karmann Coachworks in Rheine, Germany for Mercury. In 1988 there was only 6283 built and this one is a fine example of what a nice car they are. So here we have 1988 Mercury Merkur XR4Ti WITH ONLY 37512 ORIGINAL MILES. This car has been in the same family since new and well taken care of. This car features a 2.3l 4 cylinder turbocharged engine , that runs excellent with no taps knocks or smoke. the clutch grabs well and the 5 speed manual transmission shifts as it should. This car also has power windows, door locks, sunroof and air condition. There is also a after market stereo. The body on this car is excellent with absolutely no rust or damage, just a few small paint chips and scratches. The under carriage is excellent and the gray leather interior is in very good condition. All the glass is good with no cracks or staining. This car was last on the road in 2012 we put fresh gas and a battery and drove it home about a hour away and it road like a champ. Please email with any questions.
