Vehicle Detail

Hello, For sale is this 1970 Ford Torino Cobra 2 door sportsroof. Only 7,675 Torino Cobras were produced. This one has the 429 4v with the Ram Air. Was originally Grabber green. I bought the car in 1986. It was primer gray and the motor had just been rebuilt. Was running a little rough as the valves needed readjusted. The person I bought it from had gotten several tickets after rebuilding the motor. He even had wired switches into the ashtray to turn off the tail lights when being chased. I never really drove it. As I was working 60 hours a week as an auto mechanic, working on friends cars on the side and drag racing our 67 Mustang on Sundays. I also had another 70 Torino. I was starting a family and our second child a son was born in 1989. The wife was wanting to buy a house. One morning I woke up and decided to give up working on cars and hung up my wrenches to focus on family and buying a house. Parked all of my classic Fords and quit drag racing. Quit my job and working on cars. The Son arrived. We eventually bought a house with a pole barn. The barn was suppose to be for the cars. The cars never made it and got parked beside the barn. 4h projects were in the barn. We bought the house in 1993 and the cars have sat there since. I loved the 70 Torinos and with the 429 Wow what power. They were sharp looking. It was actually Motor Trends Car of the Year. Sadly this car has sunken into the ground sitting there all these years. The ground is kind of wet over there. Lots of rust and the car has deteriorated. My health has recently went down hill also and I need to raise some money. I hate the idea of parting it out as it is a special car so would like to sell it has a whole. It appears the drivers door was changed before I bought it so the codes are gone. It was a 4 speed car but now has an automatic. There are 4 shocks in the rear so it was probably a drag pack car-the marti report does not mention the drag pack. The person I bought it said the original cobra jet heads had been replaced with 429 4v heads. It has the spread bore type intake that indicates it was a Super Cobra Jet-D00E-9425-C-the Marti report says it was just a Cora Jet motor-not Super. Where the car had been stored at one time some kids broke in and stole the carb and Ram Air scoop. Also they broke the drivers window-took the dash apart stole the radio and the interior Snake badges. The Marti report shows it has the S rearend-which means it has trac-lock and 3.50 gear-someone said it appears to be a 28 spline rearend. After years with no carb the motor does not turn by hand-holes have rusted through the oil pan-. When I bought it the person said it had the original short block and all the Cobra Jet parts. Appears to have different front seats as the buckets are a green color. Also looks like originally had rear window louvers as there are mounting holes for it. The Marti report: says it is a Cora 2 door sportsroof. Grabber green paint. black vinyl bench seat. 3.50 trac lock rear axle. Four speed close ratio manual transmission-it has been replaced with an automatic. Dealer equipped with electric clock, original tires were f60-15 raised white letter tires-they have been replaced. Sport slats-missing.. Power front disc brakes. Power steering. Am radio-missing. Color keyed racing mirrors-missing-trim rings and hub caps-missing. J code engine-429-4v Cobra Jet Ram Air-due to my health I have been unable to get the engine block numbers and do not see the numbers listed on the heads. Car was produced on June 12, 1970. Would like to sell it has is. It will take some work to get it out. Sunk in the ground. The 4 tires don't hold air. Appears the front floorboards are gone and would guess the frame is very fragile. I do have an extra drivers side door and trunk lid for it. Have not found the keys for it. Any interests? Any Ford Collectors want a rare and unique car? Have seen the cars go for 60-70k when restored. Are You ready for a project. Let me know. Thanks. Can take additional photos as requested. Willing to try to answer any questions You may have. Please serious inquirees only.
