I don't know much about this bike except that it was part of a trade/purchase with some other stuff as a package. What I DO know is that it was ridden to the small dealership that I sell for about 2 years ago and parked inside a dry garage. A couple weeks ago, I pulled it from the clutter, loaded it on my trailer and brought it back to my shop. I then checked it over with the basics...tire pressure....oil level...battery charge. Tires were low but the front was recently replaced. Rear has plenty of life left. Oil level was proper and nearly clear as new. Battery was shot, so I ordered and brand new one. I was able to get a minor charge going in the old one, enough to add a jumper battery, some gas and give it a whirl.Added some fresh gas. Naturally I lightly cranked it on and off so the oil would circulate....which it did because the oi light popped off almost immediately while full crank was applied. I then pulled the choke lever out and cranked.....the bike started to fire then ran on it's own! As you can clearly see in the pictures below, the 3000rpm shows it at full choke, then 1000rpm when it warmed up. The new battery is installed now and I was able to driveway ride the bike. Everything seems fine in the mechanical department, but with no license plates on the bike or insurance, I was limited to my 1000foot driveway. The ONLY thing I can say is that the carbs will need to be cleaned as the throttle response is great with the choke on, but bogs down once the choke is turned off. Of course once it's brought up to temperature, it may run better, but they should be gone thru so it's reliable. I peeked down the gas cap hole and didn't see any rust or crusty. Shouldn't be since it was stored inside. Basically I don't recommend riding it anywhere until you get it buttoned up. Left front turn signal has a crack in it but doesn't look to have any moisture inside. Paint is a nice metallic black or dark dark gray. No obvious dents in the tank. Rims are nice and straight. Minimal scratches...especially considering it's age. Most can be buffed out if desired. Windshield looks great. Doesn't show any signs of being wrecked or even knocked over. Tailpipes don't have any scratches or dings. Bar ends and fairings don't show any damages or cracks. For some odd reason the mid triangular side covers were painted black, so those are the only exterior eyesores to point out. Everything seems to work as it should including all the gauges, stereo, speakers throttle cruise stop, lighting, etc. Pioneer CD player works perfectly...CD playing in the picture. AM/FM works great. Has add-on rear lighting which I forgot to test via the switch mounted, but I'm sure they work as well. Hard bags are removable like small suitcases, lock, and store plenty. Nice chrome guards protect the nice clean engine. Motor runs smooth with no noises or obvious oil or coolant leaks. Nothing wet anywhere. Transmission shifts easily, clutch feels smooth. Suspension is tight and leak free. Exhaust is quiet with noticeable leaks. Brakes work as they should considering my short ride. BID, BUY, and RIDE with 100% CONFIDENCE!! Since I'm a moron and didn't look at my typing very closely.....I wrote down the VIN as it reads ON the bike frame....which in my ad is correct. The title reads the EXACT same....EXCEPT you need to add "JH2"in front of the pile of digits for the U.S. designation code so that it has 17 digits in the VIN as opposed to the typical 14 on the older bikes. I point it out just in case you purists HAVE to have every last drop of info, etc. No funny business here. Furthermore....in my last paragraph of desciption...I list the exhaust as "quiet with noticeable noises"....this IS NOT CORRECT!! The exhaust is quiet with NO NOTICEABLE NOISES whatsoever!! None.
