Vehicle Detail
1970 Chevrolet C-20 Fleetside Full restoration Factory A/C No Reserve Auction Up for bids is this show quality 1970 C-20 Fleetside. Solid and rust-free with all original sheet metal, this truck has logged about 1000 miles since a complete cosmetic and mechanical restoration. The truck was sold new at Fletcher-Jones Chevrolet in Las Vegas, later moving to the similar desert climate of Pendleton Oregon. It features a laser-straight body, rebuilt 350/350 drivetrain, factory A/C that works, and new wheels and tires to complete the package. Click to enlarge any of the images, OR click here to view a slideshow of all of the enlarged images. The truck wears one repaint in its original color combo of Ochre and White. The painting and prep were done to a high standard, this is nice paint. Glass smooth with no runs, fisheye or other imperfections, the paint and body on this Chevy are impressive. Body panels and pinch welds are all original and show zero rust issues. Tires are Federal MS-357's in 245/75R-16, they have about 500 miles on them. Here's 3 time lapse Google Street-views of the Fletcher-Jones dealership in Las Vegas where the truck was sold new. Bill Heard took over the dealership in the 90's, this 1st picture is from 2007 when it was still an active business. The 2nd photo is from 2013 when the property was vacated. The 3rd photo is from 2015 and all that remains is the fence and fire hydrant! Grill, emblem, lenses and belt line trim are all in terrific condition. Both bumpers are new and straight as a pin. Brophy tow hitch and wiring, ready to haul. Roof and drip rail and both excellent. CR Laurence rear window. Front windshield shows some light wiper rash, the truck's only flaw. Strong presentation from every angle. No dents, no dings, no chips, no scratches - the truck is show ready. Very clean bed and gate with no dents. If you're handy with a planer, the original wood flooring would be worthwhile to refinish and varnish. Sharp interior with new upholstery, sound insulation and carpet. All instrumentation is working correctly. The mileage reading of 80K is believed to be original but due to its age the truck is sold mileage-exempt. Lights, signals, horn, wipers, etc all work as they should. Radio has been upgraded to a satellite ready Auto-Sound cassette with i-Pod jack, it has good sound. Heater, fan and plenums all work great, the A/C has been converted to the R-134a standard and blows cold. Clean door panels and solid sills. All new weatherstripping, every piece. Turn-key condition with no loose ends to tie up. Clean interior from top to bottom. The 350 motor was hot tanked and decked, then assembled with World heads, upgraded cam, new timing set, pistons, bearings, etc, plus a polished crank, new Edelbrock intake and carb, as well as Hugger headers. Whew. It runs perfectly and has a sublime, almost silent idle. The motor provides seamless performance throughout its powerband with instant throttle response and a good amount of torque. The TH350 transmission was overhauled and a shift kit installed, it moves through the gears with fantastic precision. Cooling system and brakes were all gone through as well - this truck is ready for the road. All of the receipts from the restoration as well as the original Protecto-Plate. Very clean undercarriage with no rust and no issues, just a standout example of Chevy's iconic C-Series. Click here for a slideshow of all of the enlarged images.
