Up For sale is a really neat 1968 CST short wide bed 2 owner same family truck.This thing is an unbelievably unmolested pick up, it has the rare factory gold and white two tone exterior with the even rarer factory gold and white interior with two tone buddy buckets. From what I can tell this truck has had one repaint in its life time. The gentleman I purchased the truck from told me that his father in law purchased the truck brand new, many years later the original tailgate was damaged and then replaced.This is when I believe it was re-painted. For some reason they did not put the factory trim back on the gate but I do have it. Back in 2006 after sitting for years in a barn the son in law purchased it and this truck was taken to a local machine shop where they pulled the original 350 motor and 3 speed manual transmission and completely rebuilt them. The engine compartment was detailed, all of the brakes were gone through and rebuilt as well .A new gas tank and sending unit were also installed at this time. The motor was put back stock with the exception of adding an edelbrock intake and carb and chevrolet engine dress up kit. It does have factory power steering and Dealer installed Air conditioning but no power brakes. The truck was parked in 2008 shortly after the rebuild with only 500 miles being on the complete drive train until I purchased it. I have the original owners manual as well as the Protect-o-Plate and the owners manual for the Mark IV Dealer Installed A/C. I was told by the previous owner that he started it up in the garage once a month for the past 7 years until I was able to save it. All I have done to the truck thus far is put a brand new set of radial whitewalls on it and retrofit the A/C to 134A and get it blowing ice cold. This truck runs, drives,shifts, rides and stops like a brand new truck. For around here this is an extremely solid pickup but with that being said it does show signs of its age. There is bubble up as pictured in the lower front corners of the doors and behind the passenger rear wheel well as well as some paint flaking on both outer bedsides. The inner and outer rockers are both solid as well as the cab corners but the front two cab mounts will need replaced and both rears will need some attention or replacing. The bed floor has small pin holes in front of the rear wheel wells where a tool box used to be. I have attached pictures of all the bad spots and would be happy to send more upon request. We have big plans for this truck which include a four corner air ride and much larger wheels but we have a shop full of projects so before we start on it we are offering it up here in a one time auction before we get carried away and the price increases dramatically.
