Vehicle Detail

You’re looking at my 1979 GMC High Sierra Blazer 4x4. It’s a great running and driving restoration project. Clean Oregon title. No liens or back fees due. It's been in California for at least 20 years or more. The odometer reads 44,900, actual mileage unknown. I have the original owner’s manual and original warranty pamphlet. It was bought new on Feb. 23, 1979 in Eugene, OR. 6.6 liter 400 optional motor, power steering, power disc brakes, tilt wheel, Rally wheels, air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, power door locks. It has a lot of cool factory options. New master cylinder, runs and drives well. All the gauges work. New Flowmaster single exhaust. It needs a catalytic converter if it stays in California, that being said, it will not pass smog in the condition it is in; however, I believe once you put a converter on it, it should pass with flying colors. A friend of mine is a mechanic and said it will need valve guide (umbrella) seals eventually. It does not smoke while you're driving the truck. After it sits for two weeks or more, you start it and it doesn't smoke or knock. After driving it, when you let on and off the throttle it smokes very little, but it's something that I want to disclose. It has great oil pressure and plenty of power. Good battery, new rubber fuel lines near the tank and up front by the fuel pump. It looks all original under the hood. I bead blasted and painted the air cleaner. The front leaf springs look flat to me, but I’m not sure if that’s the way they’re supposed to be or not. The transmission shifts well. No noises in the transmission or in the axles. Full time four wheel drive and it works great. All the glass is good. All the lights work, even the license plate light. The aftermarket lights on the front bumper might work (no wires to them). The blinkers work. 15x8 Rally Wheels that have been blasted, primered and painted. I have the rear quarter emblem, but the mounting tabs are broken. The rear bumper is bent on the passenger corner and made a hole in the lower portion (shown) with a dent above the tail light on the same side, tail light molding is bent. The tube grill is an aftermarket grill. I don’t have the original grill. The original jack is under the hood. No rust or bubbles in the tailgate. No rust in the doors, no rust in the fenders, no rust in the quarters. The only rust holes I found are on the passenger side floor and the inner fender well. It needs paint. It looks like it has one repaint over the original paint (same color). It has a very straight body except the driver’s door has dents. Might be cheaper to buy a straight door than to try to fix this one, I’m not sure. Where the mirrors bolt on on top of the doors (driver and passenger sides) there are cracks in the metal from the mirror bolts. There is rust on the inner fender underneath the battery box (caused by the battery), underneath surface rust only, no holes going through, on the underside. It’s not soft anywhere. It looks like it’s never been wrecked to me. The fiberglass top needs some gel work or heavy primer on top. The fiberglass top is not cracked but the paint has come off. I have two original GM mud flaps. The other two are gone. The tires are old and cracked and should be replaced. The power locks and power windows work, including the power rear window. The horn does not work. The tilt column is tight, not loose. It has an older Pioneer cassette stereo which sounds good with four speakers. The carpet is faded and torn in spots and the dash pad has cracks in it from the sun. The seats are in good shape and comfortable. The passenger seat has a rip (as shown). The heater works. The air condition is all there and hooked up but does not turn on. The belt is on. It might just need a charge, I haven't looked into it. If you need more information (a walk around description) or more specific pictures, you can email me or call me, Mike, at (760) 519-3478.If you are an overseas buyer, I have a truck and trailer and can transport the car to a shipper in Long Beach for $300.This vehicle is being sold as is with no implied warranty. If I have not had contact from the winning bidder within three days of the end of the auction, I will assume you are a non-paying bidder and will proceed through the ebay steps accordingly. Payment is to be paid in full within 5 business days of the end of the auction and pickup within 14 days of the end of the auction unless other arrangements are agreed upon.
