Vehicle Detail
This all-steel restoration candidate is a vintage 2-door 1938 Chevrolet coupe that could be transformed into a snazzy street rod or "rat rod" by an inspired restorer. Original body in blue-steel grey color with additions of an LT1 350 multiport engine (with 1,000 miles), a turbo 400 automatic transmission, Firebird rear end and front sub-frame and new leaf springs. Distinctive flowing front and rear fenders of the '38 Chevy and grille (from 1937 Chevy) and original front headlights. Three-core radiator, transmission cooler, full trunk hood and engine compartment cover with vented side skirts. Interior has S10 bench seat, glove box with mounted clock, dashboard gauge unit and tinned-in floor (also trunk); Painless Wiring Harness after-market kit. Window glass for rear window only (with original finishing frame); all other glass windows needed. Engine runs but needs to be hooked up to gas tank. Wiring also needs to be finished. Front disc brakes and new rear Cooper GT50 tires with American racing rims; front tires are weather checked and need replacing. Miscellaneous parts included, i.e. door handles and window cranks, chrome, battery box, plastic gas tank, etc. (Current owner can provide other details; contact through eBay email) Vehicle has been stored inside for about 15 years by current owner, who had planned to turn it into a "rat rod." Buyer to arrange pickup or transport. PayPal deposit required within 48 hours of purchase; full payment due upon pickup at Green Bay, WI. Make an automotive statement with this classic '38 Chevy coupe!
