You are bidding on a 1958 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spyder, series 750D. This is a complete, matching numbers car with the serial number on the engine matching the serial number on the VIN tag, as shown in the pictures. The engine and transmission currently in the car are from a 1300 Giulietta Sprint, but the original engine and transmission that came with the car from the factory are also included (see pictures.) The previous owner was going to rebuild the original engine, so he removed it and put the Sprint engine in so he could continue to drive it. There are some new parts included for the engine rebuild, including valves and some other odds and ends, but the original engine is still completely disassembled. This car was licensed and driven as recently as last April, but has not been driven or started since then. This is probably the most rust-free Alfa Spider I’ve ever seen. I searched for rust high and low on this car and could not find a single rust hole or rust pitting anywhere, top or bottom, fender wells, trunk, or floors. There is also no evidence of any previous accidents. This is an excellent car for a complete restoration to concours standards. The car is complete, in spite of some minor things you might see missing on the pictures of the car, like the rear bumpers, top bows, etc. Although the car has been repainted red at some time, I believe the original color was black, as I can see black paint below where the red has chipped off in some areas. I expect payment within 5 days of the end of the auction. The car can be picked up after your check has cleared my bank. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, but I can give the name of a good, reliable shipper if you wish. Buyer will be given a Bill of Sale and the Alabama Registration for the car. On Jan-02-15 at 15:13:31 PST, seller added the following information: I've had some questions about whether the vent windows are correct on this car. The answer is that the previous owner added the vent windows from a later model car many years ago. The original door glass would have been one piece. I believe the original door glass is in the flat tan box lying on the floor labeled "GLASS", next to the rear bumper. Also, he "upgraded" the taillight housings several years ago too. The original ones would have been the classic oval design with the tin piece over them that bisects the lenses.
