Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1952 MGTD. This car was owned for over 20 years by the same man who had intended to do a full restoration on it. He purchased NOS parts for it, mostly from Abingdon Spares, all of which can be seen in the pictures, including: - Front and rear bumpers with overriders (made in the UK) - NOS Steering wheel in correct marbled color (from UK) - Complete leather interior, including seat upholstery, paneling, carpets, dash cover, rear area covers, correct Robbins top, correct Robbins tonneau cover, correct side curtain covers in material that matches the top exactly. - Door handles, both exterior and interior, along with latches, all of which are UK products - Interior rearview mirror, side curtain holders and toggles, and glove box with correct flocking - All the rubber seals for remounting body, weather seals, grommets, gaiters, gearshift cover, and any other rubber pieces one would need in a restoration of this car - Complete exhaust system in polished stainless throughout that looks beautiful - New wood header for top bows, as well as new wood pieces that top nails to along back edge of car body Some of these items were installed on the car about 6 months ago by the man I bought it from, such as the bumpers, exhaust system, steering wheel, door handles, mirror, etc. The engine was gone through by the previous owner and although I haven’t started it in over 6 months, the last time I ran it, it held a steady 50 to 60 lbs. of oil pressure and sounded very good with no unusual noises. It drove and shifted well the last time I drove it. The carbs leaked a little since the cork seals in the jets are probably brittle with age. This is a matching numbers car throughout. The structural wood is all in very good condition with no rot. The only rust on the car is a small area below the rear of the doors. Otherwise, there is only surface rust. If you do your own bodywork and painting, you could probably restore this car to show condition for very little money, since all the correct expensive parts used in a restoration have already been purchased. I expect payment within 5 days of the end of the auction. The car can be picked up after your check has cleared my bank. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, but I can give the name of a good, reliable shipper if you wish. Buyer will be given a Bill of Sale and the Massachusetts Title for the car.
