If this car doesn't sell or get paid for...I WILL KEEP IT for myself!!! What a fun little cruiser...not to mention it looks awesome and isn't very common. I'm going to assume this was Volvo's attempt to offer an "R" model for the 40 series lineup. Silver interior trim package instead of woodgrain. Front lower spoiler. Rear roof spoiler. Factory BBS type wheels. All kinds of fun without all the stuff you don't need. Seems they also got it right with the 03-04 model offering PIAA style headlighting. The exterior is an easy 7+ out of 10. Tiny dings and chips throughout barely visible until you get right up on them. This was a mom-mobile after all. Lower spoiler has seen better days. Bumper covers have typical chips and scuffs. Honestly...a professional buff and wax and the exterior jumps to an 8+ since it would remove plenty of the lighter scratches (shown below pics). I'm no bodyman but I can't see any signs of major bodywork or repairs or repaints. No accidents shown on the Autocheck. Absolutely no visible rust. No cracks or damages to the bumper covers. All the exterior illumination works properly including the front driving lights. Tires are nice matching Bridgestone Potenzas up front and Kumho Ecstas on the rear, but all have at least 70+% tread life and ride on straight vibration free rims. Ready to get you thru the snow! No major damages to be found on the wheels. Unseen are the BRAND NEW brakes installed with zero miles. Shine looks great on the hood and roof as well! Below you can see the worst of the scratches. I don't have matching touchup paint, but touch it up and a quick wetsand would improve the appearance before your buff. Below....super light scuffs on the roof. Not deep thru the paint, only surface. Easily buffed out if desired. Above and below you can see light chips in the bumper cover. Note that the car sports the backup warning sensors, one is popped out of position and causes the car to beep ONLY when backing up. Once reglued, it will work normally. If you stare at the passenger mirror, it is missing the lens. Fear not! I have a replacement in the glovebox ready to install! Above: Center portion of the lower spoiler is missing. Below you can see the super clean interior! Aluminum looking silver accents are a nice touch to make your V40 stand out from the others. Again...mom-mobile shows mild wear. No holes or damages to the leather but a few scratches and a bit of rear seat stretch from a baby seat. I'm purely nitpicking here tho. That said...I hate smoke and can't see or smell any signs of a former smoker. In fact, the car smells like a newer Volvo car with leather should. Carpet looks good with only a few salt type stains around the driver's side area. Minimal driver's bolster wear. Absolutely ZERO dummy lights on while running and ALL come on during startup as they should. No lights have ever come on during the 1000 miles I've logged on this car personally....told you I wanted to keep it!! All the power items work as they should: ABS, power windows, BOTH power seats, locks, mirrors, climate control, AM/FM/CD works perfectly (plays burned CDs easily and ALSO you will notice the car had a Satellite pod cord which is no longer there but the wiring is making for easy iPhone or aux plugin...I've used it), Factory subwoofer also sounds great, cruise, HOT heat and ICE COLD AC, winter transmission mode, etc! This car has it all....everything you need, nothing you don't! Factory floor mats are included. Unseen is the full spare setup aired up for your next roadtrip! Doorpanels and trim look good with only a few nicks here and there...again..nitpicking. All of the factory manual items are here along with one working keyfob key. Believe it or not, this car actually spent it's beginning life in Sweden as the warranty service history shows entries from that area!! Military perhaps? Makes sense with all the one-of-a-kind touches on options with this car...I ASSURE you that you will NOT see another like it! Super clean and maintained engine compartment. Yours truly will be installing a BRAND NEW ZERO MILES Contitech timing belt, new spark plugs, the new brakes are installed. It's not there now, but the timing tag will be added after the install. Engine fires right up with the nearly new Duralast BIG battery. Super smooth turbo pulls the strong engine via a properly shifting transmission. Oil and coolant are clean with no signs of any major oil or coolant leaks. Nothing on my shop floor overnight. No overheating. Car drives nicely over any pavement without any unusual pulling or wandering. Brakes work justlikenew2u!! Suspension is tight and noise/rattle/squeak free. The car needs nothing.
