Vehicle Detail

PLEASE READ THIS AD FROM TOP TO BOTTOM!! THIS IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AND DUTY AS A RESPONSIBLE EBAY MEMBER!! I'd love to jump on the bandwagon and call it a "barn find" but that would imply squirrels living inside with a decades worth of bird poop stains on the gorgeous red paint!! Not here!! Had to be someone's baby that for whatever reason, decided to park it inside. LOW LOW miles at 73,xxx and true ONE OWNER status (according to the Autocheck). One of the BEST upgrades to perform on the older 3-series BMWs....add a set of 328i 16" wheels and tires off the 97-up cars! Night and day transformation. Body is an EASY 8+ out of 10. NO rust to be seen or found on the car. I'm no bodyman but I can't see or find and signs of bodywork or repaints. ALL the VIN tags are intact on EVERY body panel with no tapeovers or "DOT" replacements. Can't see any obvious tapelines and the red DEFINATELY matches no matter what lighting is available. I can count on one hand the dings and small dents on the car, most of which can be repaired by a qualified dentbuster tech. The very few body blemishes coincides with typical 73k usage over a near 20 year lifespan. Paint shines justlikenew2u!! Above and below you can see minimal bumper scrapes and scuffs. Amazingly no cracks or major damages, but obviously the right front driving light is missing. It looks to have been unbolted with no surrounding damage yet the driver's side is intact with a scrape!? Who knows....my preference is to paint the entire lower black/gray ground effect area to match the body color A-LA the 97-up versions anyway. Hood has only a handfull of typical rockchips. Headlights lenses are perfect with no cracks or fading. Matching Continental tires on every corner sport about 50% tread left with even tire wear. All ride on clean rims. Below, I tried to catch the angle right but there is an "outie" ding just above the trim line on the driver's door just past the turn signal area. Odd, but there. Purely nitpicking here. Note the BMW hood emblem still has all it's color intact. A few white fuzzies on the nearly perfect top are included with your purchase. Easily removed if you don't care for them. Only complaint to be made about the roof is the typical dry faded and cracking rear plastic window. You can buy kits for replacement. Inside, the lower rear portions of elastic that hold the liner in place have come loose. Again, easily replacable if desired as they only hang about 2 inches away from their intended location on either side. Actually it seems that they had simply popped out of place, but I'm unaware of proper routing to reset them. Yes....the AUTOMATIC top functions 100%: up, parked, and back again. I was unable to snap pics of this proof since a heavy rainfall rolled in right after this picture shoot. My excellent feedbacks show my word is my bond. That said, the car doesn't leak a drop, no funky interior or trunk smell, no water buildup. This area on most midwestern BMWs is normally exploding with rust...namely the trunklid edge, the lower metal panel below the trunklid and the rear quarters from road splash. NOT THIS ONE!! Not a flaw. Rear bumper cover, altho missing the tow hook cover (it may be in the spare tire area), looks amazing with only a few easily touched up chips. Note the rear window and the VIN tag on the trunklid. Below is the ONLY eyesore....IF you want to call it one. I'd bet if I didn't point it out, you would have a hard time seeing it. Looks as if something flew up and bonked it underneath. Like all the other blemishes, I'd just leave it and cruise!! Couple more easily touched up chips on the bumper cover here. I would have done it all but don't have the proper matching paint....do it right or don't do it at all... Note the passenger side grill has a crack and is pushed in a bit. Onton the easy 8+ out of 10 interior!!! Clean it all and it's a 9. I honestly am showing you the car the EXACT way I received it. No detail. No over cleaning. There's a lil armrest dirt to be leaned off the doorpanel. Carpet is solid and clean but has a few stains on the back floor as if a soda was spilled. Leather looks great with only a few small odd spots (shown in pics below). Minimal driver's bolster wear. No noticable cracks, rips, tears on the door panels or seating. Dash is perfect. Minimal wear on the knobs. From my minimal drive time, it seems that ALL the power items work as they should: ICE COLD AIR CONDITIONING, dual climate control, power windows, power heated seating, locks, roof, cruise, lighting, Aftermarket ALPINE CD Player, etc. Latch for rear entry on driver's side doesn't work. Passenger does. ALL the dummy lights illuminate upon startup with ONLY the Airbag light staying on for a couple minutes then goes off. No rust here! Unseen is the full size spare tire and setup, aired up for your next roadtrip!! Sorry no factory floormats come with the car. Look closely above on the rear lower seat...can't tell if it's a stain or something stuck to it. I didn't pick at it since there is no hole or other damage....below..same goes for the front seat. Note how solid the doorpanels are!! Above: LOOK AT THIS GOLD!! BOTH factory keys are included. No keyfobs and I'm not sure this car came with em. ALL the factory manuals are here INCLUDING the original $45,xxx window sticker!!! Below is the ONE rockchip on the windshield. Under the hood is exactly the way I received it. Super clean. No signs of any major oil or coolant leaks. No spots on my shop floor overnight. The strong battery fires the smooth running engine right up. What little I drove the car, it pulls nice and strong. Transmission shifts thru all the gears as it should. Seeming zero drivetrain issues or noises including a quiet suspension. No noises, squeaking or popping altho the rear shocks seem soft. Super easy to replace once the rear top hatch is opened. One man job. Brakes feel great with the rears looking recently replaced and the fronts about 40% worn. As stated the AC is cold and pump actuates properly. HERE's the "issue"...hence NO RESERVE!!! The car is in NEED of a thermostat!! This is a VERY common issue with the 6 cylinder older engines from BMW. In fact, the car sat right at middle temperature while I took the pics implying a tiny bit of coolant flow. Once you move the car with revs above 1500rpm, it will slowly heat up. I presume the thermostat since you can clearly tell it's never been opened up, the mileage, the age, and that one upper hose gets way hotter than the lower hose. These cars ALSO suffer from faulty water pumps, which also has never been changed. That said, the car CANNOT be driven home. MAYBE down the street but my 20+ years experience with cars says thermostat first. It is, afterall, a 20 year old piece of technology that has clearly sat for periods of time. No oil in the coolant, no coolant in the oil. Fluids are clean. No chocolate milk buildup on the oil cap. No exhaust fumes or exhaust pressure in the coolant tank. I DO NOT HAVE THE TIME TO REPLACE MYSELF. Bid accordingly. MY LOSS, YOUR GAIN!! NO RESERVE!!! Inspect my excellent feedbacks. Bring your tow dolly or trailer after you STEAL this excellent BMW specimen! Think SPRING AND SUMMER next year while you go over this LOW MILE car this winter! GOOD LUCK!!! Above you can see the VIN tags intact. Below I tried to snap a shot of the clean underbelly. Don't miss out on these hard to find in solid low mile condition BMWs! Absolute Sale - NO RESERVE!!
