This '55 Series 62 Coupe Deville appears to wear much of the original old laquer paint. the finish is checking and chipping throughout, however the body itself is very solid. This is a dry climate Cadillac and it shows. This is a complete, running and driving project Cadillac. The exterior presents the great all original body and brightwork. The chrome will need restoration front to back, however it is in good condition. Under the hood is the 331 cubic inch Cadillac V8. Be sure to play the video of this Caddy to hear the engine. Further inspection of the engine compartment will reveal factory components such as the oil bath air cleaning and external oil filter. This is a running engine and sounds and idles smooth. The transmission shifts as well. You can see the factory power brake setup above. We did a still video because the brakes do need some work. Our seller just wants to sell the car as is. The autotronic seeing eye box is still in place. The sheetmetal throughout the firewall, inner fenders and core support is original and solid as well. Open the doors to 1955. This interior appears mostly original, intact and well preserved. The white leather upholstery is in very good condition front to back. The interior panels appear original to this car throughout. The door panels are in good condition, showing some wear. The headliner is in good condition. The dash and instruments are intact and in exceptional condition. The 1983 Texas inspection sticker gives you an idea of how long this Cadillac has been off the road. Also note the seeing eye is intact. The undercarriage displays exceptional original flooring and framework throughout. The trunk features the original trunk mating, spare tire/wheel and factory jacking equipment. The trunk metal appears to be in excellent preserved condition throughout, with only surface rusting. The door undersides are also in good condition.
